What's interesting is the idea that there are a lot of free floating planets in the galaxy, probably more of them than actual stars. The stuff we can see just makes up a tiny fraction of the stuff that is actually out there.

Looks like MACHOs (new window) are making a bit of a comeback, although it still looks like dark matter is mostly WIMPs (new window).
