"I Leap To Judgment On The Internet" sounds pretty failworthy too, subby. In any event, what ArkAngel said.

Bless you. You've done a good thing here.

Meh, I'll still watch it with my pants around my ankles.

I don't know who this woman is, but I LOVE me some SyFy movies. They're so terrible that they're fun.

Winnie Cooper from the wonder years. Also the world's hottest math teacher.

looks like ol' Danica McKellar is gonna have to math her way out of this one!

I swear, syfy movies are what pulp scifi writing was in the mid 20th century.

But can she scream as good as Jaime Lee Curtis?

Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired: I swear, syfy movies are what pulp scifi writing was in the mid 20th century.

Oh, please, syfy (pronounced see-fee) sucks! Lowest common denominator, formulaic monster movies.

C20 SF was GOOD. (i.,e. Foundation, Caves of Steel, The Stainless Steel Rat, Starship Troopers, Ender's Game) Try reading some of it!

Compare syfy to "Monthra vs Mega Godzilla" and I'll agree.

2011-11-12 08:22:33 AM
Syfy sucks. For all the money it spends on original movies it could try and take some decent science fiction short stories like Arena or Quietus and make a movie based on that.

"all the money it spends"?

I think most of it is Canadian government film grants and college interns doing CGI for credit.

The Space channel up here in Canickistan once tried some original programming on a shoestring budget, it didn't work and they haven't tried again since. If you make it cheesy but have decent effects and humor(Sharktopus anyone?) it can be fun. Unfortunately you rarely get that and are instead bombarded with Snakehead Terror or Killer Swarm. They aren't even bad enough to be funny, they just flat out suck.

the story of base jumpers who invade Tasmanian national park and get chased by crazed beasts wishing to tear them apart.

Wait what, is it a national park in the state of Tasmania or a national park (somwhere) called the "Tasmanian National Park".

SPOILER ALERT: after terrorizing all the characters for 80 minutes the tasmanian devils and killed when an SUV ploughs over the pack from offscreen. Anyone who's seen a tasmanian devil in the wild know you'll find them all over the side of highways as a pile of roadkill.

I got so bored with my homework
I turned on the T.V.
The beauty contest winners were all smiling through their teeth
They asked the new Miss America "Hey babe, can you add up all those bucks?"
She looked puzzled then just said, "Math Sucks!"

Ms McKellar's only got about six months of age on me. I say that so I can say that I've thought she was hot since she was Winnie Cooper. That being said, I can't imagine the acting roles are coming down like rain for her, if she's taking this drivel.

Her first two acting roles were in Twilight Zone.

And:She married composer Mike Verta on March 22, 2009, in La Jolla, California; the couple had dated since 2001. They had their first child on September 7, 2010, a boy they named Draco

Actually, it was a good bit better than average for one of those things. At least they had a sense of humor about it.

"Sharktopus" was money. The acting was so terrible I thought I'd stumbled onto a Skinemax soft-porn flick. I just kept waiting for the principals to start making out to no avail.

I'll take anything ever printed in Analog or F&SF (ever!) over anything syfy ever produced (ever!).
