Before you judge this mother: How many of you Farkers are parents?

How many of you wish that after your little bundle of joy finally goes to sleep, you could just cook up that dime bag in a spoon, wrap the rubber hose around your bicep, and inject that magic juice that gives you sweet, sweet relief?

Nope. I save my dime bag money for things like Skyrim. That's what I want to do when my bundle goes to bed. If these junkies have money for dimes and smokes, they could have a better life for their families. Expensive habits are expensive, not even counting the price your body pays. Fark them.

I have also heard that you can crush up a prescription medication pill and inhale it into your nostrils to get high. If I had kids, I would definitely not do that.

I don't know just where I'm going
But I'm gonna try for the kingdom, if I can
'Cause it makes me feel like I'm a man
When I put a spike into my vein
And I'll tell ya, things aren't quite the same
When I'm rushing on my run
And I feel just like Jesus' son
And I guess that I just don't know
And I guess that I just don't know

I have made the big decision
I'm gonna try to nullify my life
'Cause when the blood begins to flow
When it shoots up the dropper's neck
When I'm closing in on death
And you can't help me not, you guys
And all you sweet girls with all your sweet talk
You can all go take a walk
And I guess that I just don't know
And I guess that I just don't know

I wish that I was born a thousand years ago
I wish that I'd sail the darkened seas
On a great big clipper ship
Going from this land here to that
In a sailor's suit and cap
Away from the big city
Where a man can not be free
Of all of the evils of this town
And of himself, and those around
Oh, and I guess that I just don't know
Oh, and I guess that I just don't know

Heroin, be the death of me
Heroin, it's my wife and it's my life
Because a mainer to my vein
Leads to a center in my head
And then I'm better off than dead
Because when the smack begins to flow
I really don't care anymore
About all the Jim-Jim's in this town
And all the politicians makin' busy sounds
And everybody puttin' everybody else down
And all the dead bodies piled up in mounds

'Cause when the smack begins to flow
Then I really don't care anymore
Ah, when the heroin is in my blood
And that blood is in my head
Then thank God that I'm as good as dead
Then thank your God that I'm not aware
And thank God that I just don't care
And I guess I just don't know
And I guess I just don't know

We've been having heroin junkies drop like flies around here. I've proposed a mandatory 15 minute waiting period before we respond on any heroin overdose, but the top brass shot that down.

There is one glimmer of hope...we're going to start delivering Narcan using an atomizer so we can just shoot the Narcan up the nose instead of screwing around with their veins.

urban.derelict: no? the high from pot is just fine? I'm not going to stick a needle in my f*cking arm to get high.

Nice argument you have going there: my illicit drug is superior to all other drugs.

If all you that matters is getting high, you can get high on life. Go run a mile and get an endorphine rush.

But that's hard, right? Easier to inhale a chemical that enters your blood stream and affects your brain, right? So artificial stimulation of pleasure receptors has to be alright then, right? Well, then heroin and other injectable narcotics are far superior to marijuana in their ability to stimulate feelings such as pleasure.

Oh, but marijuana is safer! Well, it's illegal and it does have negative health effects.

But it shouldn't be illegal! Doesn't matter, they're both illegal as far as the government is concerned, and if you defend your right to your choice of drug, then don't get on a high horse when someone else does the same.

Now, doing it with your child in the car: that's just messed up. It's also another good argument for the decriminalization and regulation and government distribution of drugs.

FTA: "You might as well throw rational thinking out once you're addicted," he said. "You're absolutely powerless."

If you're that weak you should die before you fark up anybody else's life beyond repair.

I managed to quit tobacco after chain smoking for 20 years, and I've known plenty of junkies and alkies who gave it up. If we can do it anybody can, unless they're too weak or stupid to live.

I've see a few old guys dragging oxygen tanks while they totter down the street and still smoking. I want to yell "I hope you never had kids!"

Now mind you in the past couple years I took to drink, but I don't drive and don't have kids or anybody to be responsible for or to. I still haven't gotten in trouble or sick from booze; I seldom get hangovers, in fact. But if I do go out like a John O'Brien character I'll hurt nobody but myself. And in the meantime I'll have fun on Fark.

Sabyen91: You find nothing sad about it? You don't think if she were in her right mind she wouldn't regret the hell out of her life decisions?

Addicts, whatever their poison, use because it's escapism. No addict is high/drunk/tripping/tweaking every minute of everyday, it's during those times of being sober-ish that they reflect where they're at and how they fark up, then get depressed, and abuse their drug of choice to dissolve their problems if only for a short while.

/Known many many drug addicts from all echelons of society.
//Only grass myself, but even fellow potheads can attest to easy absolution with a joint.

natmar_76: Go try a shot of heroin, then come back and tell us the difference.

Actually just go get some fentanyl since it's more potent than heroin and it's a prescription medication, but yeah opiates and opioids are on a whole different level of high than pot. From what I've experienced with percocet and hydrocodone I can completely understand how easily someone could get addicted to that feeling. Some people can settle with things like pot and just messing with prescription pills. Other people aren't happy til they're passing out from whatever they've taken and want to do that everyday or simply do it to avoid going into withdrawal. This story is sad because of the toddler having a mother who's addicted but I know more than a few people who take oxy's/morphine who will probably end up in jail or dead before they stop too.

I've tried heroin. I liked heroin. I saw why I should not do heroin, and stopped at 2 or 3 occasions. Simply: I doubt I can afford it and I'm too lazy to try.

Some people can handle it; most can't. Either way, those who do it regularly should not have anybody besides themselves to hurt.

A couple of years ago I was riding my bike downtown when I came across a parking lot with cars beat up & pointing all directions. There was a newer Mercedes in the middle of the lot with it's doors open. Apparently the Mercedes guy went wacko & played pinball on all the cars in the parking lot. Someone bravely reached in and got the keys and shut the car off. When they stopped him he had a needle stuck in his arm and a months old baby in a car seat. The guy that snagged the keys said the driver was so farked up he could barely walk or talk.

I went through a similar epiphany with cocaine.

I was advised by someone close to me who I trust and has knowledge, that I should never try heroin because it would consume me. I never have.

I can say though, that I've overcome years of meth use.

Through none of that did I ever put my use ahead of my responsibilities. This "mother" apparently never learned that lesson.

IMHO you prioritize. Alcoholic? Fine. Be the best damn alcoholic you can be. You lose Mommy/Daddy privileges, snip snip. Please. We can keep making excuses or we can start making choices. Children are precious cargo that require a clear headed Captain at the wheel.

If you were raised by alcoholics (or worse) you may be able to see where I'm coming from. I'm all for getting that alcoholic or junkie some help. And we both know America's track record on that too. So at the least, give the next generation a farking break.

Honestly, the list for those not fit to parent is long in my book. Those lost to addictions (drugs, alcohol), recidivists, religious fanatics - fanaticism is a very dangerous thing, mental illness, the chronically unemployed, those too young and those too old, loser slackers that didn't use preventive measures during a drunken gropefest, etcetera.

There are 7 billion humans on the planet. We can continue to live in happy denial or we can heed the warnings. There is just so much fresh water, food sources, raw materials to chew up and spit out. Everything has a cost. People are way over-due to wake the fark up to living responsibly.
