Jesus,...

If the mainstream media starting reading all the "BS bravado, ironic, intended for TFer's" posts,.. There's going to be a mass mobilization of CIA/FBI and the military methinks.

/Only saying that because I'm the mayor of a small city who likes to practice bizarre sexual practices and cannabalism on his citizens.

Isolated incident.

Overzealous social media.

Well the GOP has placed Gisela Salas in charge of the elections in Florida. She has been at the center of election fraud in the past two elections in Florida. Immediately following these events this low paid civil servant suddenly became a multimillionaire. She owns multiple mansions in several states, has vacation properties and luxury cars. Her husband? He's a retired cop.

Why isn't the FBI tracking this stuff?

This needs to go green.

Free market elections at work.

Internet tough guys. Yeah, this is really something new here.

Best damn democracy you can buy.

Are they discussing how much the democrats commit voter fraud? If so, why the outrage?

2011-11-13 08:01:06 AM
I refuse to believe it. Like the Tea Party members know how to use Facebook.

Awkward.

ACORN!

Wright!

Ailes!

Concentration camps!

Communist conspiracy!

Right over there! LOOK!

I can think of a way you can quickly confirm or deny your assertion.

2011-11-13 08:42:32 AM
And after doing some research they released this (new window) showing some links to WI GOP, Scott Walker, at least one TP executive in the LaCrosse area.

2011-11-13 08:50:42 AM
Reminds me of some of the threads on Kos back in '04 when I was collecting signatures for Nader. If your job is to "save america" and you think people are too dumb to make their own choices, democracy starts to look like a dodgy stranger in an alley.

If you read Leo Strauss you would expect this from cons.

He tells them they can't hold onto power unless they are crooked.

2011-11-13 08:51:34 AM
If three guys saying they'd like to do something on facebook is now the threshold for thinking Fraud is going to be committed, I am expecting a SWAT team to break into my apartment any moment now for threatening death and bodily harm to the all the higher-level executives of FOX and NBC if they cancelled some of the shows I love.

I am the Ghaddafi of the internet.

That's nothing, imagine if they had access to TFD.

Most of us would end up in solitary confinement 23 hours a day.

Imagine how bad the cons really lost in 2006, 2008 and 2011

2011-11-13 08:55:17 AM
Seriously, those 10 shocking and vile screencaps are basically two conversations screencapped over and over, where 3 guys are saying these stupid things while a few egg them on or joke around.

Again, if that's an indicative of anything, then Fark is the central ground for communist-anti-semitic-islamophobic muslim plot to transgender your gay children into voting for kenyans who run for the GOP in 2012 while listening to nickelback playing songs from bands you've never heard of. and drink tiki punch.

2011-11-13 08:56:58 AM
Doesnt seem like a very good plan. If the idea is to pretend to circulate a recall petition so they can toss the signatures, whats to stop someone from getting those peoples' sigs on a real one?

This isnt a real threat, its a fantasy.

2011-11-13 09:00:05 AM
It's a good job no criminals have ever been caught from their posts on Facebook.

But I like tiki punch.

Watch the documentary "How Ohio Pulled It Off" and tell us about how conservative election theft is no big deal.

It's on YouTube.

Just looks like a couple of Internet Tough Guys mouthing off on Facebook. BFD.

Bob16: Imagine how bad the cons really lost in 2006, 2008 and 2011

It always strikes me that we only prosecute the kind of voter fraud that doesn't happen. Conservative election fraud never seems to get any investigations.

Tea Partiers have no ethics or morals?

It shocks me to learn this.

So you're saying there is a town for people like me?

Animatronik: This isnt a real threat, its a fantasy.

We all know how much the Tea Party loves to fantasize, spending their time with Palmela Handerson and a DVD of "Who's Nailin' Paylin?"

Tatsuma: Seriously, those 10 shocking and vile screencaps are basically two conversations screencapped over and over, where 3 guys are saying these stupid things while a few egg them on or joke around.

This.

I hate the tea party as much as if not more than the next guy, but this is reaching. Call me when you have screen caps of Walker himself, or the Koch brothers encouraging such behavior.

2011-11-13 09:11:33 AM
Isolated fascists?

That's ridiculous. Nobody is suggesting anyone listen to Nickleback songs. We may not be the best bunch, but we aren't monsters!

2011-11-13 09:13:40 AM
I'm not sure what's more sad, that these idiots actively work to suppress the will of the people, or that there are those who will support them because their cheerleader outfits color-coordinate with the team uniforms.

2011-11-13 09:13:50 AM
Yeah you can trust conservatives.

The people that lied us into the Iraq quagmire are too honest to steal an election.

Animatronik: Doesnt seem like a very good plan. If the idea is to pretend to circulate a recall petition so they can toss the signatures, whats to stop someone from getting those peoples' sigs on a real one?

I take two things from this.

First of all, you're right. There's nothing to prevent people from signing a real petition, although if these people go through with it, many who would have signed the real one may not realize that they in fact did not, and pass up the opportunity to sign again.

But the fact is that if these people do indeed circulate false petitions, it is highly illegal, and seems to go along with the mindset of the GOP to prevent anyone who is not a Republican from having a political voice, be it for an election or signing a recall petition or whatever. If they circulate real petitions and then destroy them, that also is illegal.

What bothers me most, however, is that there are people who claim to believe in democracy, who curse and rant and rail against what they believe, falsely, is socialism, or to use their words, Marxism, yet they at the very least they use some of the most anti-democratic tactics short of threatening people with their lives should they vote against the GOP.

America lovers, indeed.

It does seem a bit of a tempest in a teapot. On the other hand, these guys are chortling over a plan to commit a felony and the consequences for them can and should be just as severe as someone chortling over a plan to commit any other felony. I presume you aren't so dismissive of Arabs on Facebook chortling over how many Jewish women they plan to rape when they conquer Israel. (In my experience this seems to be a major Arab fixation: raping Jewish women in the aftermath of the Glorious Reconquest of Palestine; maybe because they don't know what their own women look like?)

The real issue here is: conservatives expect to lose this fight. They expect to not be able to prevent the recall and then they expect Walker to be kicked out of office. Who knows better than they how badly their ideology is doing? There have recently been a series of heartening victories on the progressive side, from the completely unexpected rejection of Mississippi's "life begins at erection" law to the electoral smack-down of the author of Arizona's "papers please" law, to the modest improvements to the economy being achieved despite republican attempts at sabotage (in a recent Florida poll, 35% of conservatives and 25% of republicans said the republican Party was deliberately sabotaging the economy for political gain) , people are coming to their senses and rejecting the non sequitur policy approach of the republicans (i.e., "How can we create more jobs?" "Outlaw abortion!" "No, seriously, how can we create more jobs?" "Lower tax rates on the wealthy!" "No, but seriously...").

Maybe there's hope for this country after all.

FTFA: "Politiscoop has been inundated with emails claiming that these people are just a few loud mouths on the social networking site Facebook and their plans could be tossed out as "jokes" or political banter."

Tatsuma is running with these exact same talking points.

Curious.

2011-11-13 09:24:17 AM
The only logical way to deal with repubs given their long record of lying is to take everything they say as a lie.

Maybe, just maybe, because they're valid points raised by anyone capable of critically analyzing the situation for more than .5 seconds.

That's a paradox, subby - Real Americans, by definition, can't commit election fraud.

2011-11-13 09:25:48 AM
They were clearly joking!EnviroDude: Are they discussing how much the democrats commit voter fraud? If so, why the outrage?

No, they're talking about how Republicans plan to subvert democracy like they do in every election.

So nothing you need to worry about. They're hard at work as always making sure that it's as hard as possible for those people to vote.

2011-11-13 09:29:36 AM
IF there was a FB page where 3 democrats were discussing collecting and destroying recall petitions against Reid or Pelosi, how large of a font do you think Faux News would use for their headlines?

I wonder what you were saying, at the time, about the ACORN "Mickey Mouse" thing. I don't take this kind of crap very seriously, either. But if this were lefties posting, Faux News would be screaming about it. They'd probably even have footage of the perps talking about it in Wisconsin...with palm trees in the background.

vudutek: IF there was a FB page where 3 democrats were discussing collecting and destroying recall petitions against Reid or Pelosi, how large of a font do you think Faux News would use for their headlines?

Both sides are bad, so sink to their level in manufacturing outrage?

Can we get a serious 3rd party....one that will take the high road? Pretty please?

Perhaps it can teach the Tea Partiers that trick.

2011-11-13 09:31:33 AM
The joke's on him. The old joke has always been that there are about three democrats in Waukesha County (quick Google search at least puts him there anyway), two of them are freshman poli sci majors at Madison and the other just moved from the lakefront.

2011-11-13 09:31:51 AM
Ah, conservatives. Democracy is SACRED... when the majority of people agree with me. When we're worried that we might not win a fair vote, however...

2011-11-13 09:32:08 AM
And then there was Walker himself admitting that they had considered bringing in agent provacatuers to start a riot.

Last thing I heard about that was the cops in Madison saying they wanted to talk to him about it but that was it.

Yeah I trust repubs.

2011-11-13 09:32:09 AM
Non-story, overzealous republicans

Citation, you needs one.

And if true...WHERE THE fark ARE THE FEDS!
