This is awful news. Weeds jumped the shark long ago.

I stopped watching as soon as they moved out of the subdivision and the stupid drug smuggling storyline started.

I wish I could say I stopped watching at that time too. :/

It's been pretty bad for a couple seasons now (although I know some think longer). However, the way they left off the last season, I'm a bit confused... I'm sure it won't be what you think happened as that wouldn't make sense with a new season, but it seemed like a good way to end the series. I'll probably still watch it :P.

This, from the channel that axed Dead Like Me after only 2 seasons, should surprise no one. Showtime is the anti-matter of cable, keeping the other channels stable. I am surprised they haven't worked a deal with Netflix now that Starz has pulled out. It seems like something they would do.

Showtime will never cancel a show as long as there is a viewer.

there were a few good episodes from last season, the trip to Humboldt and reappearance of Haylia being the best of the bunch... other than that, yeah, it's time to put it out of its bong soaked resin misery.

Um, no. See Balchinians post.

I quit watching 1 episode in to season 3. The show is freaking terrible.

Lessee... Alex Gould finally turns 18 on May 4th, 2012, and there's one thing each of the other male characters on this show has done, which he hasn't yet...

When the black family disappeared from the cast.

Is she still showing her tits?

/or rather, which episodes are titworthy?

Ummm, yeah, just post pix of Mary Louise Parker's tatas.

I've sadly stuck around with this series the whole time, and was hoping it would end with that gunshot in the last episode. I can't stand Mary Louise Parker's character anymore, and the rest of the characters are pretty much retarded at this point. Conrad should just show up and waste everybody in the first new episode and take over the show at this point.

I wouldn't go that far, but last season was kind of pointless.

I too, wish it had ended with last season's finale. Would've redeemed the entire last 3. Instead we get another dumbed down season. I hear Dexter's in jeopardy due to money issues, I vote they just give him all of Weeds' budget.

I watched through season 5. Should have stopped at season 3 as season 4 was fairly painful to watch. You knew they burnt down Majestic because they wrote themselves into a corner and hit the series reset button, then did it again when they fled north.

My main problem was that there was little or no character development. The Nancy Botwin character kept doing incredibly retarded things. It became a "retarded action of the week" show.

I caught an episode of season 6 on the TV Guide channel one day (WTF are they doing showing Weeds at 1AM?). Yeah, not missing much.

boinked Nancy?

/haven't watched since she got knocked up

For what it's worth, last season really made a comeback. Before that, I would have been glad to have it cancel, but there were some pretty great moments last season (all centering on Doug, though).

/ Shame they couldn't have scripted a ten minute long, graphic sexual encounter between Mary Louise Parker and Michelle Trachtenberg though.

The most common complaint I've heard(haven't watched in years), is that those same retarded actions have no consequences. Remember the season 2 finale? They need more of that.

Andy Botwin: Hey, Lupita, settle an argument for us, what do you call the thing between the dick and the asshole?
Lupita: The coffee table.

/it had its moments

Strongly seconded. One mediocre Dexter episode is x1000 better than an entire season of Weeds .

thats the only time i literally LOLd at the show. i almost grabbed something to drink just to spit it at the tv. the first two seasons were a lot of fun.

but i agree with the rest of ya, though, no reason to watch past season 3. its just a garbage soap opera. none of the characters have any redeemable, or entertaining qualities, and the plotlines are ultimately pointless.

The writers really messed up when they burned Agrestic/Majestic down. It's just never been the same. Total crap actually. And still I watch. Hoping.

/they better bring Celia back before the end

They should have ended it after season 2......total crapfest ever since then.

This show has jumped the shark multiple times.

I gave up halfway through the 2nd episdoe of the first season. Not enough to judge on, but I knew it wasn't going to work for me. Like mentioned earlier, Dexter is much, much better, which is surpassed by Breaking Bad.

Kevin Nealon is the only thing good about this show.

There's no part of Mary Louise Parker I wouldn't eat.

She's spectacular.

I like the character while they were in Agrestic, but she was the worst part of the show after they left. They obviously didn't really know what to do with the character.

SPOILER:

Not sure how they'll progress, seeing as it was pretty clear that Nancy got shot in the head in the last episode... But I suppose they'll fake their way out of it somehow.

2011-11-12 05:02:29 PM
I liked how they ended it. Hope they actually killed nancy and give silas center stage for a season. Never liked andy's character and shane still has too much of a baby face to take seriously in an adult role.

2011-11-12 06:49:02 PM
One of the main problems is that Nancy is no longer a likeable character. She hasn't been for a while. She's a selfish biatch that always gets her way no matter what. I was hoping she wouldn't get to see her kid any more because she didn't deserve it.

2011-11-12 10:38:38 PM
I stopped after whatever season it was when Shane killed that woman. 2? 3? I tried to watch some after that but it was just too unbearable anymore. I hate Nancy.
