"Better" perhaps in the sense of being less thickly populated after millions of people are killed in the wars that ensue in the effort to erase those borders. Study the partitioning of the Raj for an extreme example of the sort of atrocity your fellow man is willing to commit in order to redraw a map.

But, sure, once all the mass looting, torture, rape and slaughter is finished it will be a happier world. All the injustices of the past will be forgiven and forgotten and there will be bunnies, hugs and rainbows for all.
