Drew is turning in a celebrity with that can of Heineken. Rock Star!!!!
2001-11-05 04:23:51 PM
"It is mostly test-based"

as opposed to their grammar and copy-editing, which apparently is not test-based at all.

But here's a serious warning: You should know that many of the stories and links on are sexually oriented

Guess they looked at Fark a couple weeks back when Jeff was running the show. grin
2001-11-05 04:28:48 PM
At picture to left.

What picture?

I don't see a picture!

Maybe my computer is retarded.
2001-11-05 04:31:55 PM
Maybe *I'M* retarded...

Where are all these alleged "sexually oriented" stories, and how am I missing them??!! I demand answers!
2001-11-05 04:31:55 PM
You know, I never noticed but in that picture of Drew, the beer almost looks like an IV bottle. I guess that would fit.
2001-11-05 04:33:23 PM
Nice...they farked the link to Obscurestore, instead putting in the link to ananova.
2001-11-05 04:33:27 PM
B(.)(.)bies -
2001-11-05 04:36:52 PM
"Fark, however, lets readers comment on each story and many of the discussions can sometimes be more interesting than the original story."

2001-11-05 04:38:42 PM
Right on--> Proud2B_American

i think we need more B(.)(.)bies and more photoshop.

maybe once a month we have a big photoshop contest. the "best of the best" if you will.
2001-11-05 04:38:55 PM
Wogus! Hey! I resemble that remark.
2001-11-05 04:39:06 PM
Also if you are tired of Seeing Ananova rip off Fark badly, then you should just stay here.
2001-11-05 04:44:57 PM
And - the last time I checked that 20 article limit was thrown out the window, what 4-5 months ago?
2001-11-05 04:50:41 PM
yeah, that beer looked like an IV. That would rock.
2001-11-05 04:52:03 PM
But, did have 5 mil hits last month? Do they have a Drew or boobies or beer? What about a devout following of morons? I think NOT! For the record we had 35 pages posted today!
2001-11-05 04:55:31 PM
"But here's a serious warning: You should know that many of the stories and links on are sexually oriented."

What the fark is he talking about? Our boobies are not particularly Asian ones.

What a dolt.
2001-11-05 05:02:05 PM
Is it just me, or did they distort the label on the beer can?
2001-11-05 05:16:56 PM
That is the worst article I have ever read.

1 - His description of fark is hardly accurate. Most of the stories are sexually oriented? Wrong.

2 - Check out How about you proofread your article and get the URL right.

3 - One drawback is that will post only 20 or so links a day, unlike Obscurestore, which has links to many more on any given day. Did he even view the site? There are years worth of archives. Even years of posts!

4 - If you are tired of with its decidedly British-influenced lineup of weird stories Ananova stinks like stinky pudding. They mine articles from Drew's brain. I hope the cry a lot at night.
2001-11-05 05:20:05 PM
lol Pork.
2001-11-05 05:28:02 PM
"1 - His description of fark is hardly accurate. Most of the stories are sexually oriented? Wrong.

They said many, not most. Even so, thats still not really accurate. Good point on the other three though.

StrongBad: welcome to the world of journalism. Any time I've had first-hand knowledge of some subject or event and then seen what was written about it, I've been appalled at the inaccuracies. My own estimate is that writers get about 50% of their facts wrong on average. And there's my friend who's in public relations who regularly gets her stories placed nearly verbatim without the newspaper/magazine 'author' ever checking a single thing in them. It's made me much more skeptical of what I read.
2001-11-05 05:32:27 PM
Well there are some naughtty thoughts on fark.

This review was disappointing so that the comment about the articles being LAME or STOOPID and the discussions kewl would stick.

rock on!
2001-11-05 05:35:50 PM
So if you care Jjorsett, write a durn press release...
"In the cutthrout competetive world of news of the wierd link site journalism, there's only one clear choice, That's right, for all the news that isn't fit to print, we bring you 1 out of 3 doctor's agree,"

Like that, Then you'll never have to complain about anything ever again.
2001-11-05 05:44:11 PM
Caliburated Thanks for the correction. I misquoted the article.

Jjorsett Are you telling me that Bat Boy didn't sign up and join the marines?
2001-11-05 05:51:36 PM
Great, that article was from my local news channel net page. Now everybody in Denver is gonna Fark.
2001-11-05 05:55:21 PM
2001-11-05 06:08:44 PM
Where's the Mindy Peskie pics?
2001-11-05 06:15:55 PM
And what the fark gives with Jeff not ponying up the last name. Who does he think he is, Vanity?
2001-11-05 06:23:17 PM
I'm fine with the number of articles per day, by the way. I just want more photoshop!
2001-11-05 06:52:22 PM
Heh Boobies
2001-11-05 07:16:58 PM is a much better site, than the other brand. User participation is key. Hats of to Drew and <Jeff>.

Oh Yeah, [image from too old to be available]
2001-11-05 07:29:55 PM
The site is run by Drew Curtis and Jeff?

Now I have media evidence to back my theory:

20 links? Many sexually oriented? I guess I've been visiting the wrong Fark all this time. But really. The photoshops (need more) are great for some good laughs and some of the discussion threads get pretty intense. Fark is the balls.
2001-11-05 10:20:42 PM
Bastards! This is just a ploy to plug their own "Weird Chronicles" or whatever they call them. Fark is good. Fark very good. Now, is Jeff really the second-in-command? What about Phil, Mike, Crawdad, and all those other guys in the Farq?
2001-11-05 10:40:18 PM
...and don't forget, fark is easier to spell while drinking...
2001-11-06 12:40:50 AM
I was an Obscure store fan until I discovered Fark. Ummm, am I the only one who thinks Fark has more articles a day?
Plus, the comments often make me think of Letterman's joke writers sitting around and getting drunk while surfing the web. Funny shiat.
2001-11-06 08:41:07 AM
I think he got the 20 number from the Fark FAQ:
"We're trying to keep the number of articles down to around 20 a day, this means that some of the submissions are bound to get cut."
