Piers is the only one who had any idea what talent was (and even he lapsed on occasion), hopefully Stern will provide some sort of check to the other two bonehead judges or there won't be ANY x's this season

I don't know about that. I recall her being on his show many years ago with ICP. She completely wiped the floor with insults to them, their music and Ozzy wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. It was pretty epic. I bet they'll get along pretty well, but I'll never watch that show.

Sharon is a close friend of his, in fact, he was one of the first people to start putting her on the air years ago, helping foster the success she has today. You're not going to have to hear him do anything, though, because it's voluntary to watch television shows.

I thought about that myself. I'm not sure why this is a good move for the show, as most of the show's target audience aren't really Stern friendly.

He will never do it. He will talk about it incessantly and use it as publicity for his show though. Then he will complain about how terrible the new judge is and how he would be so much better.

Does this mean it will cost an extra $3.00 per month to watch the show now?

I really doubt this will happen (remember when Howard was going to be on American Idol). If it does, I don't think it will work. Howard's fans that tune in would be disappointed by a neutered Stern. His haters will be put off by the fact that he's there. I don't see the rationale for this on either side. The show doesn't need Howard, and Howard doesn't need the show. If it does happen look for Howard to take credit for the ratings, no matter how they compare to previous seasons.

If this goes down, I can't wait. I love Howard and will continue to listen to him everyday until his run is over.

It's not like Stern just has a fetish for degrading & dehumanizing women. Just listen to him gush about his wife, Honestly, he's one of the more sappy, doting husbands I've heard.

Stern started that gag when porn starlets would beg to do anything to come on the show.
He decided to see just how far he could stretch that notion.
They sometimes volunteered their own humiliating ideas just to get on the show.
it just grew from there and (for the record) pretty much stopped a long time ago. although porn star nudity & sybian rides do persists for the TV show's sake.

When he has an actual respectful woman with something intelligent to offer (Sharon Osbourne included, been a guest many times) He interviews them like any other person.

Feel free to condemn him b/c you disapprove of the cheesy stunts that did go on w/ porn stars, you have every right & I understand the view, just don't paint him w/ the broad stroke of "this is how he sees all women" it's just simply not true.

Yup.

It amazes me how people continue to view this guy as some sort of sexual deviant. It's those people that never have actually listened to the show and just see certain things he has done (like the strippers and porn stars stuff).

God forbid we humiliate porn stars and strippers. They represent the highest class American.

His current or his former one? I loved Howard right up until a few things happened: Jackie left, Allison left. Part of his appeal (to me) was that despite the money/fame, etc. he was (or portrayed himself as) a normal schlub. Loyal to his wife (often claimed he would never get divorced and if he did he wouldn't marry a trophy wife-often mocking celebrities who married someone more attractive and much younger than them), accepting of his faults (he would never have cosmetic surgery!), and just a normal married guy. After Allison and Jackie left he became Hampton's Howie. Married again and after plastic surgery he is not what he was. He became much of what he mocked.
