Beau's is awesome. Fantastic beer. The home delivery news made my day, and Mr. Co-Pirate's.

NO I need the homeless for my recycling syndicate. I pool them together to have them all recycle and then I take a cut.

Yeah, I'll have a 24 and a side of body lice.

I used to use homeless people to get beer... when I was 15

There used to be the ice man,
then the milkman
and the greengrocer
the bread man
the coal/oil man
they guy who delivers the salt,
The letter carrier

Now, the BEER MAN.

Sweet!

Doesn't sound very efficient, should just use a car.

Beau's is terrific beer. Their LugTread is awesome...nothing like the anonymous watered down hopless beers that pollute the beerscape these days.

Subby, I don't know what kind of beer you'll get from tapping homeless people.

Tapping a keg is the usual method.

Are they using rickshaws?

First of all, it's not homeless, it's houseless.

Secondly, I find it cruel and dehumanizing to refer to this person as a "homeless being". Makes him sound like an alien or something.

And finally, how does anyone expect this one "homeless being" to deliver beer to all of Ottawa?

Oh... Nevermind.

I just shared this link on Steve's Facebook page. He's a fun guy. How could he not be? He makes and sells his own beer for a living. I think he's living the dream.

They let you make your own beer in Ontario now? I thought all beer had to be bought at The Beer Store?

Likely the equivalent of one of Molson's or Labatt's fine products.

Meh, Beau's is good but it is overrated. I liked it when Scotch Irish was under old management (not that I've formed an opinion of new management).

I will give you that most mass produced is crap but the one time I had the LugTread it left a bad taste in my mouth. Actually picked up some HopHead from Tree Beer out of Kelowna which is definitely hoppy.

I live in Ottawa so I'm getting a kick outta this thread.

Beau's is wonderful stuff!

They revitalized a small farming town, do huge amounts of charity work, and are among a group of microbreweries trying to break the idiotic grip that The Beer Store has on beer sales in Ontario.

Yeah, they're a bunch of small batch uber-organic beer hippies.... But their products taste great, and that's all that really matters.

They make nice beer and their draft is good also.

I like it. But I live a two minute walk from the beer store, so I'll never be using this service. $15 is a bit steep, unless I'm buying a keg or something.

rikkards: Yeah Beau's = Blech. Hart was better

Someone called "Rikkards" is making fun of how another beer tastes? :)

Try the Beau's Night Martzen sometime. It's amazing.

This sounds like a great way to distribute 22-packs of beer to the population. The 22-pack is the same as the standard 24, but with two of the bottles missing from the homeless guy getting thirsty on the way over.

"A lot of people would like to get the beer more frequently," said Steve Beauchesne

I am also a big proponent of this increased frequency concept.

Lol, that was from way before Molson bought them.
I looked at it. Sounds interesting. Will do.

Our Job Number One!

Keep Barney distracted while the Duff truck makes its delivery.

Hiring alcoholics to deliver beer is like hiring ex-cons. They know they'll be sent to the Royal for three days of psychiatric tests if they fall off the van. The police can even hold the loonies for longer than that without a charge, but in and out of the Royal helps to keep the streets a bit safer.
