It's almost like eating food that's had one of its only nutrients removed might actually be bad for you.

I hate fiber, it ruined froot loops now I have to by the store brand. Also I honestly didn't know it would give me diarrhea to eat a whole box of Fiber One caramel bars. I didn't think much of it but about two weeks after that I ate another box and got it again, at first I was a little concerned because I never get sick and hadn't had the squirty butt since I was like 5 or something. It finally dawned on me when I was thinking about eating another box.

FTFA: A diet high in fiber -- but not necessarily one low in saturated fat or cholesterol -- is tied to a lower risk of heart disease and type-2 diabetes in teenagers, according to new findings from Michigan State University.

Just tell the lady at McDonald's that you want sawdust mixed into the beef on your Double Quarter Pounder w/Cheese.

/it may actually help the taste

Fark Me To Tears: Just tell the lady at McDonald's that you want sawdust mixed into the beef on your Double Quarter Pounder w/Cheese.

It honestly amazes me that people think doing that (adding sawdust to foods) is a good thing.

The scientists are looking at people who are eating lots of real food that also happen to contain a lot amount of fiber (basically non-grain plants) and noticing that those people are healthier. So the food industry latches on to the fiber part of that and adds sawdust to their processed food-like products.

It also amazes me that people are still trying to demonize fat when all of the research indicates that carbohydrates are the cause of metabolic syndrome.

/Eat real food, mostly plants. Not too much.

""High-fiber, nutrient-dense foods are packed with heart healthy vitamins, minerals and chemicals that can positively affect many cardiovascular risk factors."

If I had to venture a guess. Id say its probably that whole "nutrient-dense" part that is actually the part that is "dense" with "nutrients" and good for you. not the undigestible shiat thats packed with it.

Oh, another wild-eyed radical...
