Wow....just wow

"Guys, let's not let the actions of the author ruin what is otherwise a great an inspiring book. If you put aside the fact that this man touched little boys you will be able to enjoy a great story. This book will truly touches you in a special place. Similar to a young boy, you won't be able to put this book down until you've had enough, and even then you'll keep coming back for more. A book like this wraps you in and holds you tight, it can be something that's difficult to get away from. The provoking thoughts will truly stay burnt into your memory for the rest of your life. So don't let one man's slip up ruin what would otherwise be a great read! Everybody makes mistakes. That's why they put erasers on pencils."

I personally like that it is only for sale in its leatherbound edition.

I used to clean the showers at Penn State and let me tell you, that dude would leave one heck of a mess in there. In fact, it was almost like there were little kids horsing around in there. I am disappointed that the book makes no mention of this, as Jerry used to come by and tell me how the showers at Penn State were his favorite part of the football complex. Why no shower love for me, Jerry? I used to clean up after you every single week

Lolz

You know...I'm not usually one for 'too soon' comments, but I'm still reeling from the Grand Jury Report, so...

Too soon.

I don't know when my stomach will stop churning from this.

It's been a while since I read Dante, is there a special layer for guys like this or does he spend equal times on each level?

Took me a good 36 hours after reading the entire thing. You'll get over it!

lame that amazon is letting this go--

a few years ago there were some Golf Iron sets (taylor made, IIRC) that manufacturer priced wrong (like 7.99 instead of 799.99), tens of thousands bought, sales canceled, people's cards weren't refunded for over a month (sounds like some parallel of bridge financing!!!!) people left reviews that shiatcanned the manufacturer (not the product) and/or amazon and they all got deleted.

/ this is not a defense of PSU/sandusky, just how hypocritical amazon is
// hope they all die

2011-11-10 09:35:38 PM
whole lotta meh.

there's only about 9-10 'parody' reviews out of 60. most people are just calling on Amazon to remove the listing.

I am getting a kick out of the people who are attacking the only 'legitimate' review...from 2005.

/farking critical reading skills
//whar?

The five star review from 2005 is pretty poignant:

5 Stars - An Exemplory Life
Whe you finish this book you wish it was longer. Like a good movie you do not want it to end. It describes a man who has done some great things to help others. How many college football coaches would turn down 3 head coaching opportunities at big-time schools to stay in "Happy Valley". A couple who could not have their own children. Then adopted 6. Not all in infancy. A man who took in foster children and at the same time ran the defense for one of college football's elite teams for 23 years. A kid who never grew up. Yet a person who is so selfless it defies human ego. Everyone reading this should do themselves a moral favor and contribute money to the Second Mile. (...).

At least we now know Steve Williams isn't a racist. When he said "My aim was to shove it right up that black asshole", he was just repeating a line that Sandusky gave him.

I want Sandusky and James Fry to trade book titles.

The only good thing to come out of this scandal will be Sandusky, Paterno, McQuery, Curly, and Schultz dragged out into the streets, thoroughly raped in the ass, then hung from the balls and lit on fire.

There is at least one other good thing that came from this. Many of Fark's college football fans that are often at each other's throats were able to come together in agreement over their disgust with this whole sorry mess.

I don't have anything against the ohio fans. I just don't like that school in columbus.

/still have empathy for penn state fans, or at least the ones who aren't joepa cultists
/still kind of want my school out of the B1G right now. I'm still totally disgusted and ashamed that my money helped fund that horror

I'd rather see him in the state penn. Actually, given all of what happened, he'll probably be in the federal system.

He has crimes to answer for. That judge needs to rescind his bond and order him into suicide watch.

Well except the PSU fans that have been defending JoePa in every thread, I understand why he had to go but they refuse to admit it, also I guess we see why the graduate assistant didnt want to come forward with the news, seems he has so many death threats the cops are stationed at his house and he cant be at the game this week.

Hes probably done there, its a little sad since he really didnt do anything wrong, as a GA he wasnt in the position of authority to force the issue, and was probably scared after seeing that scene, still I cant help but think if he had just knocked the guy out right there all of this would have been over in 2002 with just the kid raper getting arrested.

Picking up the phone and calling the police at any point in the past decade could've prevented another half a dozen kids from being molested.

The poor 6'5" former football player was just scared and shocked and didn't know what to do.........for a decade.

He didn't know what to do when he saw Sandusky around campus with other little boys over the past decade.

What to do....what to do.
