...we recently found out that our own Scott Vrooman was a host host of the children's TV Show "Boofy Rice Cakes"....

Dubstep needed to die ever since Skrillex quit his screamo band so he could devote his time to turning this genre into complete noise as well.

And yet the biggest fans of his are hipsters and fraternity jocks. How does that make sense?

The O is much better.

I'm no fan of Perry, but I cringed the whole way through the nearly 90 second disaster.

What the fark am I watching?

Call me when the Schmoyoho does an Autotune of it.

I'm all for making fun of Rick Perry, but showing some repeating clips of him talking over shiatty music is not funny.

2011-11-10 02:42:45 PM
This was not well done. The author could have at least made some effort to sync it with the music. You can't just add a bunch of repeated jump cuts randomly and call it a remix.

Try being someone who listens to roots dub, dub techno, and non-brostep dubstep. :(

That was terrible and subby should feel BAD. Or was FarkTV involved?

It sounds like Rick Perry is skating on very very very very thin ice. Very thin ice.

GAT_00: What the shiat is dubstep?

I've heard the term now many times. I saw it made fun of on South Park. I even watched a song or two that was described as dubstep to figure out what it is. By sound alone, I still don't understand what makes dubstep, dubstep.

I know what classical music sounds like. I know what rock music sounds like. I know what country, or punk, or New Wave music sounds like. I haven't figured out what the fark dubstep is.

Martyn

Pinch

Kromestar

The last one has the typical "wub wub" sound of dubstep, which is what Skrillex stole, then distorted to shiat, and puked up.

I hate that little farker.

I think an autotune version would be more amusing.

WHAT? Skrillex is some of the least noisy dubstep.

2011-11-10 03:40:17 PM
That wasn't a remix so much a random chopped up Rick Perry soundbites placed at random over a crappy Skrillex song.

I'm glad you're spending time on something that matters this much when the Obama administration is giving weapons to a Mexican drug cartel and the Justice Dept is thumbing its nose with indignation at anyone who had a problem with that.

Dub step is electronic and remixed sample music with lots of skipping and reversing and rereversing and that "vwom-vwom-vwom" sound you always hear. Those are the hallmarks of dubstep.

Oh god no. Cosign on that.

Maybe for me part of it is because I just prefer artists in the vein of Desyn and Sasha in the first place, but I actually really do like the occasional dubstep tune, provided it's not outright noise and especially as a sweet change of pace to a really good, funky progressive house set.

Not sure if this is sacrilegious to say, but I find Rusko to be actually pretty decent, at least in comparison.

I can only hope that failing on such a large stage makes him less viable for reelection to Governor next time around.

I don't think that's very likely, though...

It was not as bad as everyone is making it out to be on the other hand it was not particularity good either. A solid C. Ron Paul repeating "five" is what redeems it at all.

On the other hand, showing some repeating clips of him being dubbed over by someone who's really bad at lipreading is always hilarious.
