Spelling is correct, it's the singular form usage instead of plural which is at fault.

No, barrel is a measure of volume. A barrel is 43 gallons so a 200 barrel cactus would be enormous. Must be something like 200 ft tall...

No, barrel is a measure of volume. A barrel is 43 gallons so a 200 barrel cactus would be enormous. Must be something like 200 ft tall...

good christ. i don't blame subby, but can't so-called professional journalists, who presumably write for a living, and editors, who presumably proof-read for a living, get this stuff right? hell, i would have accepted cactuses, altho wrong, more than the use of the singular when describing 200 missing plants.

Lolz dude, in this context the term "barrel" refers to the shape of the cactus, not to be confused with a unit of measurement/volume...they only grow to be a little over a metre high you see.

I'm pretty sure that if that were the case, the cactus farmer wouldn't have notified police and the news.

These were the sort of ornamental cactus used for landscaping, for which people pay outrageous sums despite having very little potential for helping you find your spirit animal.

Considering that on the rare occasions when I need to refer to them at all it's in the context of food, yes.

Other than that, you just don't see a lot of octopodes in Arizona.

Weird. I own three infant Saguaros. Don't got titles to any of them. But then I bought one at a Jewel-Osco, another at CVS, and 'adopted' the third from a coworker, and I live in Illinois, so mebbe it's different for adult Saguaros in Arizona. (g)

why would you want barrel cactus fruit by itself? Its gives you a -1 endurance buff for two minutes.
