The remains of a foot were found encased in a sock in a hiking boot that washed up in Sasamat Lake in Port Moody over the weekend. An autopsy on Monday confirmed the remains are human.

Well that's a relief. For a minute I thought Bigfoot had learned how important a good hiking boot can be.

Eventually they will find the remains of a human centipede experiment.

They're expecting a few for the tsunami to show up in a year. Alaska may see them first.
Probably quite a few size 5 and 6. mens.

I remember a case similar to this going back a few years int he Virginia Beach area where body parts were washing up in suitcases.

This has to be one of the weirdest MOs for a serial killer ever.

What the hell does he do with the rest of the bodies?

The BC Coroners Service has positively identified six of the feet found previously as belonging to four individuals. There has been no evidence of foul play in any of those cases.

Good god the RCMP make me feel really safe.

"Eh, it's probably just a coincidence."

It's November, the spawning season when severed feet return from the ocean and make the brave journey back to the lakes and streams of their birth.

Indeed. Perhaps the bulk of the body becomes fish nom. Between water-logged feet, children and Native peoples, one may suspect CA has a rich and colorful serial killer culture. Or it's Americans making the most of their vacation get-away experience.

That's a travel brochure I'd like to see.

Yeah, really. And then the response from the coroner that the feet "detached naturally". How the hell does that happen? You're just walking along and suddenly, OOPS! There goes little Johnny's foot. Oh well, rub some dirt in it and let's go on?

They're decaying below water and the feet wash up after detachment, I bet.

Have the other feet been in shoes too? I guess that would protect them from being devoured by fish.

Any chance, any of these feet might come from people lost in a plane crash? Plane crashes in the ocean, and after so long, the feet become detached, and get moved by currents etc.

Just trying to figure out a possibility.

There's at least one light plane crash but one theory has been victims of the Indonesian tsunami. Link (new window)
