You know what's really good to hear really loud? Philip Glass' Pruit Igoe (from Koyaanisqatsi) that was rearranged to orchestra and released with GTA IV and Watchmen.

Link to said song

/Speaking of Philip Glass, anyone thinking of catching Satyagraha at the Metropolitan Opera?

LCD Soundsystem? Really? Really? I like a couple of their songs but they don't belong on this list. I nominate KISS with "I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night (And Party Every Day)"

Shake Your Foundations - AC/DC
True Faith - New Order

No effing way I'm cranking Kelly Clarkson, unless you mean "cranking" as in cranking up a pitch and hurtling it out the window...

For me "best turned up to 11" is not really correlated with "pounding drums and distorted guitar." Last one I cranked up the volume for was Kathleen Edwards' "Goodnight California." Wikipedia says she does "alternative country" and "folk".

I've heard two on that list. Kashmir is the one I agree deserves volume.

Because People in power are Stupid: Your list fails for including Megaderp's Dave Mustaine while discluding Iron Maiden.

That was strictly an oversight on my part. I apologize for committing such an egregious error. Eddie may forgive me someday.

When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again
Do you, don't you want me to love you?

I'm coming down fast but I'm miles above you
Tell me, tell me, tell me, come on tell me the answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer

when the Cards played at Sun Devil Stadium, they used to play the shiat out of that before, during, and after the games. I hated it.

I could name a thousand songs, but the one I'll say, having blasted it on the JBL Studios recently (iPod on random) is:

Beatles: It's All Too Much

it just churns when you turn it up to 11.

/also the entire Cure Disintegration album

2011-11-10 12:09:50 PM
Summertime Blues - Blue Cheer

Godscrack: Ace Of Spades - Motörhead

I was thinking of "Killed by Death" myself. Hell, any Motorhead song will do.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any mention of The Who yet. I humbly submit "Won't Get Fooled Again".

Make a Spinal Tap reference and then snub them? Fail.

2011-11-10 12:13:09 PM

Be careful of your speakers' bass setting when the sequencer line kicks in.
