I've been playing Call of Duty for a long time and I'll be damned if I'll let a punk with anything less than an M4A1 take away my new game.

Actually, it worked out for the guy.

I'm waiting for someone to correlate all of these MW3 stories to re-tread the tires on the "video games make people violent" bus.

But did he get the guy's dogtags?

Good thing it wasn't the Skyrim release. Grabbing the crazy dudes sword would have been even more foolish.

It's good to see these FPS gamers are still keeping up with their melee skills.

What's the worst that could happen, you respawn after 30 seconds?

And they say video games cause kids to be violent.

I don't think that's true, but I've long suspected that MW games make you stupid.

The evidence is piling up....

/ or maybe I've got my correlation and causation backwards...

It's OK if you have the Frag feature on.

I beat the campaign on insane in like 7 hours. Little confused about the plot -- why would torturing the Russian President's daughter convince him to give up nuclear launch codes? And why would his codes even be valid if he's been kidnapped? Wouldn't there be a contingency to change them if the president goes MIA?

/still the best series of campaign shooters ever.

It's funny to see this being reported from an Australian news site. I read this in the KC Star yesterday while riding the bus home. I actually considered for a second that maybe someone else had attempted to rob a COD game, but that notion was quickly dispelled as not many other places in the world are as crazy as Kansas City.

Sounds like a fight or flight reaction chose the former option.

MW3 doesn't have a medigun to help this guy out if he'd've failed, does it?

A lot of bother over yet another sh*tty war game where masturbatory "realism" takes precedence over actually being FUN.

/I can't tell the difference between all the modern warfare games
//that's a BAD thing

I don't think I would classify the Modern Warfare games as realistic, unless I was Michael Bay.

RivenSilver: ...SPOILER....

So are you trying to be a huge dickhead or are you just dumb enough to assume that everybody beats a viedo game within 24 hours of its release?

2011-11-10 06:54:43 PM
A story I read about this incident had the guman approach, rack the slide, and demand the game. When the man rebuked him, he racked it again, ejecting the first round. That's when he grabbed the gun. Wuss obviously wasn't going to shoot him, and was counting on the scare-factor of a gun racking.

He probably just assumed that no one who plays MW cares about the plot.

There's a plot? I played the first one and I can honestly say I don't remember any characters, locations or anything even remotely resembling a story. It just wasn't important at all to the game play.

Generally speaking, if anyone here has taken a concealed carry class (often just an NRA basic pistol class with state laws thrown in), they should learn that if the situation is such that you can grab the gun, the smartest thing to do is to press backwards on the slide of a semi-automatic as they generally will not fire out of battery. Likewise, if it is a revolver that does not have the hammer locked back, grabbing the cylinder and preventing it from turning will also prevent firing.

So, all things considered, not necessarily the worst thing to do.

/If it is a revolver with the hammer back, don't do this. The cylinder has already turned and it will fire when the trigger is pulled.
//As always, use your best judgment of the situation.

I played some of 2 at a friend's place and all I seem to remember is there's some guy named Ramirez and the Burger Town is never secure enough.

/Tried online
//Was full aimbotters

If you're absolutely committed to disarming the weapon, grabbing the barrel (from underneath) is the first thing you will want to do.
