Oklahoma just had a 5.6 the other day, and the damage wasn't like that. Is there some sort of conversion rate on earthquakes?

Thanksgiving came a little early for Turkey.

Different soil and ground and other factors, and also they got hammered by a 7.x not too long ago and I'm sure that did nothing to make things stronger and more stable.

Building codes are far stricter in this country too.

Are their more quakes happening lately or am I just paying more attention?

I wonder that too. Especially in odd places like Oklahoma and Texas. Probably just a fault line being more active than normal as it resettles into place, but still. Makes you paranoid.

The one here in Oklahoma only lasted about 30 seconds. Had it kept going longer it might have caused more damage. I would assume the one in Turkey was much longer.
