I don't think a movie prop is going to save their economy.

Shut your eyes, Marian. Don't look at it!

I wonder if Ethiopia and Greece are going to go to war over who has possession of the Ark of the Covenant.

2011-11-09 05:50:54 PM
They would have found it earlier, but they forgot to take back one Kadan to honor the Hebrew god whose ark this is. They were digging in the wrong place!

Used that in a headline once about a guy who got lost and died searching for treasure in the desert southwest. No takers.

The article itself didn't sound convinced

Wake me when they find the Spear of Longinus

"According to him, some unexpected results were reported during the excavations"

They based their assertion on the fact that the guy who opened it looked like this:

Seems like a come-from-behind victory for them.

It belongs in a museum!

2011-11-09 06:11:07 PM
Just make sure whoever touches it is grounded. I hear that the Ark poses a pretty serious shock risk.

2011-11-09 06:11:08 PM
Well I'll just hold my breath and wait for the followup story.

2011-11-09 06:11:46 PM
Huh. So the Ark of the Covenant is real? What's next, the cuirass of Achilles?

2011-11-09 06:12:17 PM
Patrick Nice was moderately pleased with his find.

I found a quarter when I was planting flowers in my garden.

I'm sure that they have top men working on this right now.

Top.

Men.

Or the cities of Jericho and Troy? lol!

2011-11-09 06:13:30 PM
But when will they find the Ark of Truth?

2011-11-09 06:13:41 PM
No, they are claiming to have located Alexander the Great's tomb and for some reason think that the Ark of the Covenant is in there. Not sure what explanation they have for making that assumption, I haven't seen anything credible to outsiders to think that it might be there. Ethiopia has a much stronger case and that's not saying much.

NEWS! By some unknown amateur group in a 3rd world country, announced in some unknown Russian blog. Yeah, real credible bunch we got here.

No thanks, i've already got one. It's very nice.

Maybe they can use this as collateral for more debt?

Or,

Looks like the Nazis are going to get it after all.

Nice try, Greece. Way to go trying to deflect your issues.

If you find all the arks and put them together you will have a cirkle.

there's two or three currently claimed lances;

one in the vatican(though they make no claim to its authenticity), one in vienna(which actually does have a iron rod in it that dates back to the 1st century AD as i recall hearing), and another in paris.

the viennese one has been really heavily examined, publicly, by skeptics who date the spear itself to the 7th century, but the nail set into it is consistent with 1st century origins.

the ones in the vatican and in paris may likely be parts of the same lance.

In the porn version of Raiders of the Lost Ass, do they say, "I'm sure they have bottom men working on this right now. Bottom. Men." ?

I like to think it went like this. "It would be funny to play a joke on people for the next few thousand years. They would have to be dumb though. "

Lol, and metafysiko means exactly what I thought it meant: that this story is complete horseshiat invented by New Agers. Their "proof" that this is Alexander's tomb is that some crazy crystal rubbing coont dreamt it?

2011-11-09 06:24:08 PM
Is it being handled by top men?
