I use mine while soaking in the tub... Put it in a large size ziplock baggie (or two if you're completely paranoid) and it's perfectly fine. Same for my EVO, same for my Kindle.

I know some tech divers that watch stuff on their ipod flips during deco stops. So I imagine that if this can go to any significant depth and still function it will catch on with a crowd that doesn't mind spending money on toys.

This is the sort of thing of why I told the boss that going android would be better then apple. The drop tests alone should have been enough to convince him. Trolling aside, due to refraction between air and water (along with electromagnetic waves in the radio spectra being absorbed/scattered by water much quicker) it becomes increasingly more difficult to transmit/recieve the deeper you go.

Now, I did have a friend place two phone calls to me, on purpose, at the bottom of a pool, to prove it was water resistant. Call clarity was meh, but then again when I put my head underwater and heard his bubbling screams into the mic it sounded realistic, so I dunno.

/it just wasn't water proof. Dingus had to get the thing replaced.

Actually, I've been thinking lately that if my nook were waterproof, I'd take more baths and finish more books.

But I'm not gonna buy another device anytime soon to make that a reality.
