Nothing new there then. They would only be too happy to raise your taxes, just not their taxes.

From TFA:
Lowering the top marginal tax rates under the Toomey plan could cost about $3.2 trillion over 10 years, the Democratic staff report said.

The staff report said that to compensate for those tax cuts, Congress would have to reduce personal and dependent exemptions by 75 percent, and reduce all itemized deductions, including the one for home-mortgage interest, and all personal credits, including the child tax credit.

I seriously, SERIOUSLY do not understand how any person with higher than a 4th grade education fails to see that cutting taxes on the richest people in the country by over 3 TRILLION dollars, and then paying for it by cutting exemptions that are primarily aimed at the middle class, is a plan that does anything but fark over the middle class? How can they not see that??

I swear, I want to kick them all out and start again.

Because to think they see it, and attempt to pull this crap anyway, shatters my believe that people are innately good. That would be truly, truly evil.

No, people are innately passionate about what affects them...period. If it happens to be a good thing, great...but if not, too bad.

Fkn Republicans...same ol' same ol'

And millions of Middle- and Working-Class dipshiats will support this plan and vote for these fkn crooks.

And any minute now some rugged, bootstrappy FARKers will enter the thread to rant about how good this plan is and how stupid we libtards are.

If we lower tax rates for rich people enough, eventually they will get tired of all of those piles of money and start throwing them away. And when they do...BAM! We'll be there to take the piles of money off of the curb! This is an excellent plan.

Just like how they run their corporations, farking over the non-mega rich is a very short sighted policy.

Things like this are why I don't go to any political events.

If I did, I doubt I could resist the temptation to kick any Republican pol I see directly in the crotch as hard as I could.

Negative revenue offsets gains made by tax increases, and increases the deficit. This is about as viable as the tranny you banged last month telling you that you're her baby daddy...

Dear GOP,

That bus is coming. It is roaring along at 80 miles per hour. And while you stand in the middle of the road, screaming at your downtrodden wife that you are the head of the house, the bus still comes. You stand there, staring, screaming at your wife. She is beaten, black and blue. She is bruised, crying, demanding you leave. She is sorry she ever laid eyes on you. But you don't care. You own her. You married her, and that makes her yours. You have told her a thousand times. You have married her, made love to her, defended her, beaten her. She is yours. You know it, everyone knows it. And now you find you belongings in the middle of the road. You stand there, screaming at her. Telling her how she has no idea what she wants and that you know what is best for her. You scream at her while she stands there with your colt .45 pointed at you. Stay away, you stay away, so help me, or I'll blow your goddamn brains out, she says. She is calm. You know she isn't in her right mind. You gotta talk her down. So you stay. Calculating, talking.

Baby, you don't know what you are doing, you say. You don't know what you want, you say. Never mind the noise behind you. Never mind the neighbors. F(*ch the neighbors. What do they know?! You put that god damned gun down right now or you'll lose all that you know, and you'll be sorry, god damned it!

She remains. She stand still, while the gun is cocked, ready the fire. She sees it. She sees it coming. You don't. You think you know. You step forward, cocky, thinking that woman is yours. You step forward....

In 2010 the US spent more than 400 million on fax paper but were able to save more than half when they realized they could just have other people fax them paper and thus were able to use the money to repurchase bank of america stock from their stockholders. Its quick thinking like this that keeps them in office and I for one applaud their efforts to curb useless spending.

Everyone already knows that its only a matter of time before they cut payments to the soldiers in afghanistan and they are forced to farm the poppy fields in order to pay for a flight home. This abandoment will not stand! Again everyone knows that these former soldiers will demand a living wage for working in these afghan poppy fields which will in turn raise the prices of oxy and other prescription pharmeceuticals that fuel the modern media. After that the whole system will collapse!

Jeez, people should stop listening to the media and look with their own eyes!

These are the same people who believe defund NPR will save the country BILLIONS and that the most pressing issue that needs importance and focus is about 'In God We Trust.'

Ironically, the ones who scream the loudest about their love of the country and wrap themselves in the flag 24/7 actually don't give a f*ck about the country. All the care about is saying that America is great instead of doing things that can make America great.

I'm tired of this shait. To the point where I'm willing to say "Fark it do what ever you want and lets just see what happens", because no matter how many people rise up and say things are unfair and that the rich and republicans are out of touch with reality they still won't get it. So just fark it, lets light this candle.

What's worst is that even if you increased the taxes on the middle class to 100% it wouldn't begin to cover the tax cuts of a few percent on the rich. Stop and think about that a moment.

2011-11-09 08:29:27 PM
Which not only defeats the purpose of a tax increase, but leaves us worse off than before.

The republicans want lower taxes for the rich, the democrats want higher taxes for the rich. The democrats will compromise and raise taxes on the poor and lower them on the rich. Same song, same verse, a little bit louder and a whole lot worse!

If the GOP wants to "broaden and flatten" the tax base, the rich job creators should "broaden and flatten" the distribution of wealth.

I would give the Republicans a concession like this, but in return, I would want to cut defense spending by $200 Billion or some absurd amount like that, and then push 65% of it into education in Republican districts. with the rest in Democratic ones. There would also be a national department of education with national standards on civics, math and science set by leading scientists. And longer school days. That would pretty much stomp out Republicanism in this country within about 30 years. Then people will see how stupid all of these proposals are and hopefully we can fix the country then.

Dear GOP,

Guillotines work very well even in the absence of lubricants, people willing or able to hone edges, or even high quality steel. They operate primarily through one simple principle: Gravity is free.

Well, from the perspective of the nation's balance sheet, our priorities probably go from the biggest spending cuts/revenue generators to the smallest. So, realistically, the priority order is something like this:

1. Resolve Iraq/Afghanistan so we can GTFO without screwing te entire region (trillions/year expenditure decreases)

2. Raise taxes, not necessarily on the rich, but on the uppermost quintile or so of income in general (trillions/year revenue)

3. Untangle the health care mess a bit to keep it from impeding job growth (hundreds of billions in revenue, potentially)

.
.
.

4,598. Fiddle with the taxes on the lowest quintiles of income so that the GOP stops biatching (maybe an extra couple billion in revenue/year)

This isn't really a partisan way to organize your priorities, it's just basic sense to address your largest costs and sources of income first, since a smaller change has a significantly larger budgetary impact. The fact that, for all its faults, the Obama administration is actually going from the top down while the entire GOP and 90% of the Dems are focusing on the piddling social engineering shiat at the bottom of the list is the main reason I'm edging near to that "ok, everyone in politics can just go fark themselves" point again. The people in charge of the country are supposed to all be better at running a nation than a five-year-old, there being only one damned adult in the room is frustrating as hell, since one reasonable man is not enough reasonable to overcome that much stupid.

Yep. And even if there's not enough resources for the people to afford one heavy blade, there's still bigass rocks. Gravity always wins.

All it would take is for the general public of Republicans to wake up and say NO MORE, and vote against every Republican Senator/HR to get them out of office. As a registered Republican, I'm all for that.

Then it would be up to the Democrats to screw the country solely by themselves.

/(And then he says- "But vote Ron Paul" for president" which makes everyone's jaw drop.)
