Funny how when they let the people decide these matters that they have a tendency to sort themselves out properly.

I always manage to be driving through Georgia on a Sunday. Now I have a reason to stop.

When I was younger(too young to drink legally) I worked at a liquor store(best job ever), I remember this issue came up for vote at the time and my boss, the owner, said he was against it because it just created a situation where he would sell less product each day over 7 days instead of everyone getting their weekly purchases in 6 days.

Nevada may have its flaws, but to be able to buy Everclear at 5AM on a Sunday Christmas morning is pretty cool.

Still stuck under that absurd teetotaler law in my neck of the woods.

I always thought that it was funny that in Indiana, you can't buy liquor on election day. Seems like the best day to get piss drunk to me. Luckily, when I lived there I was only about a mile from Illinois. Santori's (liquor store) was always PACKED on election day! (Sundays too)

People have been drinking on Saturday for hundreds of year, even during prohibition.

Nationally, only Indiana and Connecticut now prohibit Sunday package alcohol sales statewide.

Even Mississippi is more "progressive" than they are.

So happy that were I work was one of the two that voted it down, hooray old people. Granted it didn't pass here is all the illegal mexicans who drink like crazy and the drunk whites who can't or don't remember to vote.

Fabulous, Georgia drivers are now 1/7th more likely to be drunk. I know you don't think the statistics will work out in that way, but you likely don't live on a road with trailer parks at each end.

Why would god be against alcohol? Jesus turned water into wine. And why else did he create huge clouds of pure stuff in space if not for man to drink in the future?

Wrong buddy. You could always drink on Sunday, if you went to a bar or restaurant. Which actually, if you think about it, leads to a greater amount of drinking and driving. Now, we can buy our booze and take it home to drink, so no need to drink and drive.

There were far more than 2 districts that voted to keep the ban.

Personally I think they should start with jag offs in the Port Authority.

I was similarly excited when we finally made this change in Lexington, KY a few years back. Before, when we couldn't buy on Sundays, we would always buy our Sunday beer on Saturday. It was always depressing to wake up on Sunday and realize we had accidentally consumed all of our Sunday beer the night before. That last bit of cheap tequila in the fridge from 3 months before always looked so much more tempting when that happened.

So nice not to have to deal with that anymore...
