I obviously undrstand the disgust about this guy, but the thing that makes rights rights and makes them powerful is that they apply even to the lowest of the low. If the convicted pedo has rights, then you definitely do. That's the price of living in a free society and it's well worth it.

I don't like workless prison sentences at all. People who break the law so badly that they're incarcerated, should be put to work, providing SOME kind of resource that the prison can sell, thus earning a profit that can be used to improve their diets. Keeping them fed, housed and guarded in idleness on tax payer dollars is simply a waste of resources.

Having or learning a craft while in the slammer, solely focusing on that for who knows how many years, would also give them a better chance of rehabilitation when they get out, since such skills would make them more employable.

People with educations who get in there, can usually apply their skills in some sort of way in such a milieu.

Of course I realize that not all criminals can be put to such use, but it would severely lessen the tax dollar drainage by the rest of the prison population.

I know a handful of people that eat soy-based meat substitutes on a daily basis and they do fine. I will say though, if an individual can show that a particular diet is harmful to him, I wouldn't be adverse to alternatives for him/her. I still think this lawsuit is BS.
