The ones built in Japan were built by union workers as well.

Anyone know a bit about ignition switches? I have a 92 Chevy Blazer, and lately Id have to jiggle the keys a bit before it would turn and start the car. Today it wouldn't turn, no amount of jiggling helped, or turning the wheel back and forth. Anything besides full ignition switch replacement to maybe patch it a little?

/can't even figure out where to startvpulling it apart

That sounds like wear to the ignition lock cylinder. Happens when cars get that old.

Ya know, come to think about it, I bet the TARDIS was built by Toyota. Doesn't steer, brakes don't work, runaway acceleration -- It all makes so much sense now!!!

Some WD40 might help, but the ignition switch needs to be replaced.

If the keys look something like this;

It's got a security system and should go to a shop.

I don't think security keys were common in 1992 Chevy Blazers.

Just buy a beat to death 70s Caddy and ram a Highlander every time you see one. When they ask "WTF?" you pull out your claymore and then say it.

I like it. And it would be in line with all of the recent melee weapon attacks in Iowa as well...

Ironically, I think adding a remote start would fix the problem as well, as they trick the car into thinking a working key is in there with a correct resistor, or a good key taped somewhere special. The VATS, Passlock, Passkey or whatever stuff sometimes go haywire. But yeah, needs dealer or really good shop attention sadly.

This. Do you have a heavy keychain? sometimes the weight can wear the lock cylinder. Maybe try some graphite containing lock lube. It may just be that the pins in the tumbler are all gunked up and don't follow the key profile. 409 on the key and stick it in and out a bunch of times can sometimes clean it up.
