FTFA: Witnesses told police Sar became angry and irate with the customer service desk shortly after midnight on Tuesday after they told him the video game he allegedly pre-ordered earlier in the day was no longer in stock.

No, he called the store a n00b then brought the store's mother's sexual conquests into the conversation.

Dysfunctional man-child has a brainfart because he has been denied access to Over-hyped Boredom 3!

Meh.. Had he actually done something then become an hero it would be news. At this point it's still marketing.

I miss midnight releases. I did them for Burning Crusade & Lich King and it was actually pretty fun. A lot more "normal business guys" than the "mouth breathing basement dwellers" I was expecting. Their was a bar in the Gamestop parking lot and the buddy I went with ended up rolling over there after we bought the game. Shot pool, drank some beers, and bs'd about gaming for a few hours with some new folks we met, was pretty fun.

MW3 is available on Steam, Day_Old. This guy was just an idiot who thinks that a box is needed.

Could have just gotten it off Steam, unless he has an X-box player.

Looks like he wanted the Elite Edition. $100! what's in it, a collectible figurine? If it comes with custom things inside the game I bet within a month all of them will be DLC for 10 bucks.

The reviews I've read have given it a resounding "meh" - apparently it doesn't really add much to the franchise

I prefer Battlefield, personally. Call of Duty feels too much like being in school, what with the screaming and crying and hurling about of things.

Take for instance, if you kill a Battlefield player with a mine. He's gonna be like "fark me, a mine!" then respawn and go about his business. You kill a Call of Duty player with a mine, between the shouting and whining he'll tell you how he's gonna kill your mother, rape your house and set your dog on fire.

And I don't even have a dog.

i pre-ordered the hardened edition from toys r us and then the day it comes out i find out that it won't ship until 'one day this week'

apparently they don't understand that when a gamer spends a hundred dollars on a limited edition game, it isnt because i want to wait a couple weeks to play it.

/yes, i know, but it was the last retailer to have copies available.

As a member of the Halo community, which the Call of Duty community seems to assume is its direct competition (I hold the view that Battlefield rightfully occupies that place), I would like to take this moment in order to insert a snarky and factually incorrect comment about how much better the Halo playerbase is.

Different play styles really. Battlefield games use larger maps, include vehicles, and generally happen slower with a more team-play focus. Call of Duty is smaller maps, a lot of running around and you can more easily carry your team if they all suck, by just killing the enemy team yourself.

Couldn't say much about graphics on the latest ones though, or what hardware they need to run smoothly (if it's PC, in which case you'd want to be certain his system would run it - and don't trust the system requirements on the box), as I've only seen BF3.

actually, it isn't throwing away money. the game is 60 dollars, a one year elite membership is 50 dollars - for 50 dollars you get improved social elements, cross-platform statistic tracking, training and tutorial videos customized for your gameplay style and all DLC and maps are included for free with the 50 dollar purchase. Spending 100 dollars on the hardened edition gives you both of those, so that alone saves you 10 dollars.

on top of that you get free avatar items (not that i will ever replace my full voltron avatar), special in-game unlocks and rewards, bonus experience and challenges, a cool book of artwork stylized as a war journal, a metal case and unique artwork.

so as far as 'collectors edition' game variants go, this one is the first i can think of that actually pays for itself and goes beyond.

i would give you an in-depth response with examples and citations aplenty, but I've got to get back to the game. I've played every variant of every call of duty/battlefield game ever released on any platform and i hate admitting it but so far MW3 lives up to the hype. BF3 is still the way to go if you want a 'combat experience' - but if you wanna run around with your friends shooting people, nothing is as fun as MW3 is.

I try and pick the most nonsensical race for the circumstance. Argonian might be good for a first run.

"It's really f#@king cold, and why do I care if the dragons kill the humans?!"

And if you don't take yourself too seriously, then you might want to listen to Powerwolf (new window).

Here's one of their songs, Vampires Don't Die (new window).

They're a great example of the power metal genre. Naturally, the merits of the genre are debatable.

Picked it up yesterday. Not a fanatic about the series, but I enjoy playing the campaign stories. Played the first two chapters and pretty impressed with the polished feel of the graphics. As usual it's completely action packed and keeping me entertained so far. I like the story better than Black Ops from what I've seen.

I'm more of a casual multiplayer, only hopping on to check things out or when I get bored. The screaming 14 year olds can get annoying.

I still don't get why people pre-order, I've never had an issue finding a company that will take my money. Target by my house had about 200 copies of the regular version by the register, and a few of the upgraded editions this guy wanted as well, and that was the first place I went. Some people are just freaks.

The only game in recent memory that I've had to hit multiple stores to find on release day was Fallout 3. I was looking for it on PC, and most stores only stocked about 10 PC copies, and a couple hundred console copies, most of which were just sitting there.

I don't think they examined which platform most devotees of the series would likely be using.

CoD:MW2 was at the store right next to my office, and I was working night shift at the time, so I stopped by the midnight release party and grabbed a copy.

"go throw a baseball very hard" at your wife for telling you that you're spending too much time watching sports.

I completed your sentence, because people that say things like you did tend to also do those things. Gamers aren't the only ones who go crazy when thier team loses.
