Amen. Hell on Wheels is going to rake awards hand over fist this year.

The reviews I've seen weren't too kind, but I loved Hell on Wheels. I hope it stays as good in later episodes.

I gave up on Pan Am after about 3 episodes. It was just a bit too far beyond stupid. When the spy chick's sister stole her camera... that pretty much did it for me.

And oh yes, the French chick is totally hot!

If you want to make sure all inflection and tone is sucked out of a narrative, stripping it of such subtleties as wit and sarcasm, be sure to make an xtranormal vid about it. It's the easiest way to say "even *I* don't care about what it is I'm going to have you watch".

I'm sorry, but she is just not an attractive woman. I had to Google Images her just to double-check before I said that, but I stand by my position on the Ricci matter. Although that picture you found is particularly unflattering. I don't know if it's the angle or what but it makes her look like she's a reflection in a fun-house mirror. Big, dog-like rib cage, thick legs, pin-size head and pinched-in waist and those dead, cold eyes.... weird looking.

Actually, they've totally been playing up the espionage bit. Not very well or interestingly, but that part is still written better than the gender and race issues they insist on turning into plotlines.

Yes, the gender and race issues are horribly handled here. All the women are strong willed and liberated within the first couple of episodes (aside from the blonde getting whiny every so often). The copilot is a bit paternalistic, but he of course has a heart of gold so he's not really a bad guy. It's like the Rockwell version of the woman's lib and racial equality movements. Minor stress and we're all happy within a few plot arcs.

The spy crap was the only interesting thing about the show. But I guess ol' Cletus in the trailer park couldn't handle that much story depth.

Ricci is the only reason I started watching in the first place, but her character really is annoying. The french chick is quite desirable probably because her character is the only one that isn't written as half-tarded.
