Rare?

Let's see... Michael Vick gets an enormous salary, and his team starts to tank. Where have I seen this before?

On a related note, if you're a dog living in Philly, I suggest getting the fark out of the city.

That's it, shut it down! We're done for the season. Clean up, last guy out turns off the lights.

sotua: That's it, shut it down! We're done for the season. Clean up, last guy out turns off the lights.

I keep hoping they'll just collapse and go 5-11 or something, but they won't. They'll probably end up 8-8 or 9-7. Just enough to make them think.. oh just another piece here or there.

The contract to Vick will haunt them for years to come.

Yeah, it looks like 8-8 or something, but since this is NFC east and not NFC west, it won't be enough.

It's a pity, because when Vick is on, it's a pleasure to watch. But Vick coming down from the 2010 season level just exposes the multiple holes in the Philly game... like another farker said, the strategy for protecting the QB hit should not be "he damn better be fast".

2011-11-08 08:49:03 AM
Heard Vick in the post-game interview talking about being "the player he thinks he can be." Shouldn't you have this figured out by now buddy?

like another farker said, the strategy for protecting the QB hit should not be "he damn better be fast".

Vick often has pleanty of time, especially lately. He just holds the ball forever. More often than not, the hits are on him, not the line.

It doesn't help that Desean doesn't go over the middle because the Eagles refuse to give him a contract and Maclin forgets how to play when there's 2 minutes left in the game.

2011-11-08 08:56:25 AM
This is kind of how vick plays, his inconsistency in Atl drove me nuts, yes he would single handedly win games, but he would also just not show up for games as well.

I really hope he returns to most of last years form for you guys, because it is such an aggravating thing to go through, I wonder if kolb will be shaub 2.0.

It doesnt seem like it yet, but he still has time.

How so? He sells jerseys and keeps the Eagles in the spotlight on ESPN, just like he did in Atlanta. And exactly how long is the waiting list for season tickets? You aren't under the impression that the Eagles management cares about winning a championship, are you?

Most of what you're referencing is shared revenue.

But it creates brand awareness for the Eagles. People are talking about the Eagles. People want to see the Eagles play because win or lose Vick's probably going to do something amazing. And even shared revenue is worth it if it means that Philly fans are buying Vick jerseys instead of Chase Utley jerseys.

I thought Marion Barber looked pretty good last night as his substitute.

Or is it more likely that teams know how to stop him once there's a season of tape on him.

He's great for a few touches, and awesome at short yardage, but he can't carry the workload by himself. He has too many miles on him. He and Forte make the perfect dual threat. Forte is the finesse runner who can cut crazy angles and find the gaps. Barber just tucks the ball and plows through people.

That said, Jay Cutler won the game for the Bears last night. On the few passes he missed, he missed away from the defense. He didn't hang on to the ball too long and he threw it away when he needed to. He was on target most of the time, and made a couple of really nice moves to keep plays alive. And, surprise surprise, he didn't have one interception in the first game in a long time where he didn't get sacked.

Forte's performance last night was good enough for Touchdown My Pants to beat Scali Clobberin Time and allow me to move into first place in the Fark FFB league I am in. This game pleased me mightily!

Really subby? "Rare"? 29-11 or thereabouts all time Bears over the Iggles, 4-1 over the last five years alone...and Vick, I think is 0-4 against them in his career....I guess oxygen is "rare" where you live too?

Cutler had the cleanest jersey ever in the post game interview. He is pretty good when he is not getting crushed every other play.

Also, at what point do we start officially recognizing that Donovan McNabb made Andy Reid look good and not the other way around?

With 5 losses so far, wins against the Eagles are decidedly not "rare".

2011-11-08 10:02:19 AM
The Eagles also lost last year to a certain team, from a certain city that starts with "C" and ends with "hicago". A certain team called Da Bears, Dumbmitter.

Chicago played a really good game last night. The O-line held up really well and let Jay do his job. Thank you, Lord, for answering my prayers about the O-line. The Bears have been playing really good football for the past three games and anybody that underestimates them should be pitied later.

Eagles fans STOP rooting for the team! The Eagles are the Chicago Cubs of the NFL and are NEVER going to win anything! As long as you remain an Eagles fan you are wasting your life.

No, the Cubs are lovable. The Eagles are pretty vile from the top management and ownership down to the players.

Soooooooooo close. 28-9-1 actually. (Pro-Football-Reference.com is a statistician's friend.)

One other thing about this game that is huge, is that in order for the Eagles to make the playoffs, they have to finish at least one game better than the Bears. The Bears now hold tie breakers against the Eagles, Atlanta & Tampa, which is essentially like having a half game on someone. As long as the Bears take care of their business, they will make the playoffs.

2011-11-08 10:31:30 AM
The Eagles are 3-5 this season (3-4 going into the Bears game). I wouldn't say beating the Eagles is a rare occurrence this season. t puts the Bears in a majority.

I think you meant to say Jim Johnson instead of McNabb. The Eagles defense looks the worst I've seen it since the pre-Andy Reid days.

/why do Eagles fans keep buying tickets?

Yeah, I think it's both of them, really. I mean, Vick has weapons McNabb couldn't dream of having but he can't produce diddly poo. Plus you have to factor in Ray Rhodes for assembling the talent on that defense that Reid has never been able to approach replacing.

I couldn't believe how good the line looked and how comfortable Cutler looked rolling out of the pocket. Only time Philly touched him is when they were shoved into him.

Bears are 5-3 but in with the Packers in NFC North. Packers show no sign of letting go of the lead so that means Bears will be (strong) contenders for one of the WC spots of the NFC. Which means Eagles are pretty much farked and out of the playoffs (and deservedly so).

Have you followed McNabb's post-eagles career? There's no evidence for this assertion.

I think it's more a fact of great assistant coaches making the both of them look good.

Eh, McNabb's just done as a QB. It happens when players get older. Reid's done as a head coach, but he's no different now than he's ever been. Notice, though, that since McNabb started his decline the Eagles haven't won a playoff game and are only going backwards.

They're 3-5, and their only convincing win was over a mediocre Cowboys team. It says something about the ridiculous offseason "Dream Team" media narrative that anyone even needs to say they're not going to make the playoffs.

Vick needs to stop throwing the ball into defensive linemen.

This headline is retarded. I'm not sure if subby is shooting for the Bears v. the Eagles, or just talking about the Eagles in general. The Bears almost always beat the Eagles (now 29-11-1, I think), and the Eagles aren't exactly lighting up their division.

/firefox suggests chubby, stubby, tubby and nubby instead of subby?
