But I thought my marble slabs were the only ones with special rings in them?

Stuff like that (and american dad and extras) makes Sir Patrick all the more awesome.

I'm going to ignore all the contemporary cultural references to declare I think it's super-cool they found this fossil in marble, put it back together and placed it within an overall physiological scheme of things.

/suck it, creationoids

I wonder if, 40 million years ago, this dead whale created its own ecosystem on the ocean floor.

The story might have ended there: Francioni already had an offer from a foreign private collector, who wanted to slabs for his living room.

Ugh.

I thought that the fossils were Satan's joke?

My old geology prof told us the story about two geologists who hated each other. One seeded the other's area with fake fossils. Really crazy looking stuff: stars with tails, etc... The victim published a book on his finds and generally became obsessed with them. The perp even repented years later and outed himself, but the victim wouldn't believe him.

Can't remember the names of the guys though.

/Just a CSB, not commenting on this find.

StoPPeRmobile: I thought that the fossils were Satan's joke?

It depends on whether or not you're a God is Great! Christian or a The World Is Evil Christian.

I got stuck with a Real Life guy my Freshman year and he thought that the goofy jumbles of bones buried in the earth was one of His ultimate practical jokes.

Hey... have you ever noticed that the Crossing the Desert is a lot like the Unblinking Eye? And it's exactly like the Wreck of the Hesperus.

/And now, the final ordeal: the Paddling of the Swollen Ass...With Paddles.

Sorry but Biblical evidence proves this is a scam.
