Little do you know, they can be. They're good for use in a barn that you don't want to leak.

jingks: I know nothing of guns, but I know enough to read the first couple posts before spouting off at subby.

FTA:
"After running out of volumes, she picked up his .22 Ruger and started "flinging the revolver around in the air" before pulling back the hammer and fired a shot."

Unless someone can edumacate me on something I have yet to see (which certainly is possible), I highly doubt a .22 Ruger revolver is capable of blasting birdshot.

Anyone mentioned ratshot yet? I had some in 9MM once, didn't know they made it in .22. Talk about hitting something with bits of sand.

Why the hell would he have it loaded with .22 birdshot? It won't do much but make a home invader hop around and go "OW OW OW" for about 10 seconds before they kick your ass.

He probably uses it to kill varmints and then has his 12 gauge for people blasting.

I've seen it first hand in .22, .38, .357, and .44. You may find it in .45 long colt, but I've never personally seem them. Those are probably the only calibers you'd find it in, because they're traditionally revolver calibers. I'd imagine the shape and the soft plastic would make it extremely hard to make them feed reliably in a semi-auto so the odds of a 9mm, 10mm, .40, .45 ACP etc wouldn't be great.

Ahh yes, there's almost always some utterly ignorant Farkspert in a thread like this.

For your edification, 22LR is widely available in rat shot and pigeon shot for use in close quarters against pest animals on farms such as a chicken coop or similar.

I call it snake shot. It works well on rattlers.
