Would it be like dividing by zero if Vanilla Ice played a rapist on Law and Order SVU that was apprehended by Ice T?

Really? Mos Def's mushmouth is top of the list and Ludacris isn't even on it? Don't get me wrong - I can't stand the trend of "I can't act but I'm famous for one thing so I should do other things I'd be great at it" - but Ludacris is actually surprisingly decent. That may be because he just plays himself all the time, but still.

I like Mos Def on Dexter.

After seeing him on 16 Blocks and House, I want to put him back into a mute fugue state.

So the three guys, Wahlberg, Smith and Cube that have actually been in something decent are bringing up the rear? This list is stupid.

But it did include Sean Combs, who was absolutely FANTASTIC in Get Him to the Greek.

Common, really? I don't think he's been that good in anything, but his Terminator Salvation performance was particularly bad.

Sure, "Parents Just Don't Understand" may seem corny by today's standards, but there's not one child of the 80s who couldn't rap along with it word-for-word.

I was just listening to that album a couple months ago. I skipped that song and a couple others, but one of the title track is simply amazing. He jams so many references into his rhymes, there's something in there for everybody.

Come to think of it, Colm Meaney was also incredible in that movie. Granted, I only know him from Star Trek so don't know if he's played that type of character before, but you've got to hand it to a director who can get so many really good performances in a movie.

Colm Meaney's always incredible, in my opinion. Layer Cake and Intermission both feature great performances from him.

Since most rappers are merely putting on an act, its no surprise they get into "acting". They already are. Hate on Cube or whomever all you want, at 16 I never believed he shot anyone, so why accuse him of being a sellout these days?

I do think its a laugh that he was once chided for doing St. Ides malt liquor ads, now he's the face of a redneck fave brew.

Ludacris was really good as Ice T's nephew/a murderer on SVU. He definitely has talent based on the few SVU appearances he's had.

what is the rating criteria? Who was initially the best rapper? Who turned out to be the best actor? Or a combination of both? If so, i'd have to say 2pac was the best of both worlds on the list.

Mos Def is the most overrated musician of all time. He only has one good solo album (Black on Both Sides). Yes, Blackstar is great, but on their album, only about 6 of the 13 songs are any good. He has three more solo albums, New Danger, True Magic and The Escstatic. The New Danger is bad and True Magic is abysmal. The Escstatic is an album that you will listen to once and go, "Okay, that's not bad" then you will never listen to it again.

He also tries to be this super intelligent, "conscious" rapper but has all kinds of homophobic and anti-white person stuff on his albums. He also says he would much rather be an actor than a musician, and that he is basically "acting the part" of a rapper.

His acting isn't really any good, he ruined Be Kind Rewind (with someone actually funny in his role that movie could have been okay) and he wasn't good in any of the other stuff I saw him in. I guess he was good in Hitchhiker's Guide, but that movie sucked. He is just such a fake.

While his rapping is derided (deservedly so) and he's batshiat crazy...his house flipping talents are pretty darn good. I don't think i've seen an episode of his show where I haven't been impressed with the job he's done.

Drop Queef Latifah and Sean Combs for Ludacris and LL Cool J. Also, add 50 Cent to the list. Who the fark goes and removes his tattoos simply to be more mainstream and thus more palatable to more white folk? He should be on the list.

Also, Walhberg was NEVER convicted of attempted murder. He was charged with it, but plead to assault because the attempted murder charged was trumped up.
