Obvious the democratic process is only good when conservatives are voting.

This is just sick and evil. Good going, GOP.

Such assholes.

Husted claimed a hastily passed and deliberately vague new state law, which took effect just last week, prohibits early voting in the three days before the election. That's a dramatic change from traditional practice in Ohio, where early voting on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday before high-profile elections has been allowed for years-and has permitted tens of thousands of citizens to participate in the process.

The law in question, Ohio House Bill 224, was written primarily to deal with military ballots. Yet, Husted is interpreting it as a bar on early voting. State Representative Kathleen Clyde, a Democrat who represents Kent, says Hustad is essentially creating his own rules.

"When you take out major chunks" of the legislation, as Husted has, explains Clyde, "the bill is now unreadable and incomprehensible."

All you paid supporters of said party, just remember- they'll come for you, too.

This religious party no longer cares about those they govern. Not unless you are wealthy.

A republican trying to stop people from voting? It must be a day that ends in Y.

Anyone still disagree with the assertion that they are domestic terrorists? I offer now as the chance for you to bring that up.

Anyone who says "Both sides are evil, so vote Republican" should be smacked across the head. The Repubs have proven themselves to be the worse of two evils, so people should vote Dem instead.

/which they will do
//which is why repubs are trying to restrict their voting rights

Voting is unAmerican.

GOP has been beating the dead horse of voter fraud and related nonsense for years now.

Government red tape and regulations are bad when they forbid corporations from polluting the water and air, but good when used to prevent people from exercising their constitutional right to vote.

Stay classy Republicans. You can only win if you use government to cheat.

2011-11-07 01:53:35 PM
When you go to the polls next November to vote for your President, your Representative, and (possibly) your Senator, remember that while the Democratic Party may be corrupted by money from big business and the stinking rich, they still want you to vote. The Republican Party doesn't want anyone to vote unless they're completely in the pocket of big business and the stinking rich.

Republicans NOT trying to suppress the vote would be news.

When turnout is high, Democrats and liberal-leaning propositions typically do well.
When turnout is low, Republicans and conservative-leaning propositions typically do well.

Therefore, Republicans typically try to make it harder to vote and Democrats typically try to make it easier to vote.

All of this applies under the Rick Romero rule.

2012--- GOPukkake.

It's happening on a local level, on a state level, and on a national level. I haven't seen a political party collectively slip on its own premature masturbatory spunk since I lived in Greece.

I can hardly wait to see the GOP drop the subtlety entirely and just introduce legislation outlawing the Democratic Party and all forms of Liberalism (defined as "anything not compatible with the GOP").

This.

And of course, whenever some other government pulls shiat like this (particularly if it's a Communist), the Republicans are usually the first to shout about it. More evidence that, if a Republican complains about something, there are pretty good odds that they're doing the same damn thing.

Remember, there is no such thing as rape to "conservatives" because if you have an erect penis inserted into your vagina, that means your legs were spread and that you wanted it to happen. Thus, reporting incidents of rape is a canard.

It isn't that they can't resist the will of the tea party, it's that both organizations take their marching orders from the same masters.

Really? Any evidence? How about the evidence of a GOP member saying "Hey, don't blame me - I hate those f*cks, too." Would you accept that as evidence, or instead of working on common ground, would you dismiss him as a right-wing collaborator?

Cletus C.: Early voters mostly vote against Republican interests, we are to assume?

In this case, yes. The bill, SB5 (new window), that Issue 2 will repeal is a nasty piece of business. On top of the union stuff (and, in Ohio, cops and fire fighters are included), SB5 contains a section devoted to shoring up rules against gay families (including not honoring adoptions made out-of-state), "privatizing" prisons, and opening up state pension funds for exploitation. There's something for everyone to hate, and it really is a perfect picture of Republican thinking.
