All the hate for Robert Pattinson reminds me of the hate Leonardo DiCaprio got when he was in Titanic. And DiCaprio turned out to be awesome. I wish people would stop confusing the actor and the role.

I don't mind Robert Pattinson but I miss his hair that sensed danger. And frankly it's a piece of shiat role, if he didn't play it, some other goddamn douche bag would have and we could all hate him. He at least acknowledges it's shiat and mocks it and those stupid tiny biatches who love him.

DiCaprio was awesome long before Titanic. He did "The Basketball Diaries", "This Boy's Life", "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and " Romeo + Juliet". All Mr. Sparkly did before Twi-shiate was get killed by Voldemort.

Let's not kid ourselves here: he's no gift to the acting profession by any stretch, but he's certainly not the worst one out there.

I think it's partly because he's some skinny, pasty faced, unwashed looking, dumbass looking, whiny bastard that's the exact opposite of what many women tell us men that they want, yet those same women are swooning all over him because of the shiatty role he took in some dumbass Mormon girl's Mary Sue story.

I agree with Biiirdmaaan! - I used to dismiss DiCaprio as purely some eye candy for teens, but around the time The Departed came out I realised he has some serious acting ability. Heck, even Catch Me If You Can was a fun movie. He's going to have a really long career, I think.

As for Pattinson, I'm not the target market for Twilight, so I've avoided the books and movies - but I'm not going to go hating on people who enjoy them. I've got plenty of other things in my life to devote my attention to.

No hate for Pattison.

He despises Twilight and its fans. Calls the books creepy, like reading some highschool girl's intimate diary. Thinks Stephanie Meyer is a flake.

But hey, it's a job, and it pays. Can't fault him for that.

One of the rumors I've heard most frequently repeated is that one of the main reasons he went after Twilight was that he wanted to bang Kristen Stewart. If that's true, he certainly got everything he wanted out of the role. Millions of dollars, plus making out with a girl you like as part of the job? Hell yeah, I'd do it.

In which case it's possible (although admittedly unlikely) that the first movie might have flopped and we wouldn't have had to put up with all the damn advertising etc for the rest of them.

/damn shame the books didn't come out 15 years earlier
//with early 1990's special effects and probable Saved by the bell casting twilight would have flopped harder than an Italian soccer player
///actually, zack as edward and slater as jacob would probably have turned the movie into a cult classic

For some reason I'm picturing this ending up looking a lot like Night of the Comet, which amuses me greatly.

Speaking of which, SFDebris' review of Night of the Comet is definitely worth checking out. Link (new window); for whatever reason I can't link directly to the page so you'll have to click on the link on the page. It's the first link under "Films" in the column on the far left.

Actually I kind of agree with Birdman. I got in trouble last week for saying I thought DiCaprio hadn't aged all that well.. but I was talking LOOKS. Talent wise he just keeps getting better. I have zero interest in J Edgar Hoover... but I am interested to see how DiCaprio played it. So I'll probably go.

I have a rather hard time believing that Robert Pattinson is interested in banging Kristen Stewart or anyone else of the female persuasion. Or, for that matter, that she's actually into banging dudes.

Everything I've heard was that he auditioned for Twilight because he wanted to play a vampire, knew that Twilight was a vampire movie, but didn't bother to actually read the script beforehand.
