When we think "damaged" we imagine a traumatized little girl who was forcibly raped and now hides under her bed at night. But when it comes right down to it... 12-year-olds are confused enough as it is. A boy that age could be pretty messed up by having some predatory old hag sexing him up while he's barely pubescent, instead of the more natural process of messing around with girls who are about as naive as he is.
