Hey, wait. We don't really want him either. How about "completely untrue rumors that he has sex with humans."

So what day should I set the DVR to watch this episode of Maury? And will there be a celebration dance involved if he isn't the father?

What the hell did this chick or anybody think was going to happen? Like it or not Bieber is a juggernaut of a brand that is making money hand over fist for many people and those people are going to fiercely protect their money maker. So when somebody comes along and does anything to threaten his image they are going to get handled. This will not end pretty for this girl.

Honestly, Justin, I know you're trying to take control of this thing, but the damage is pretty much done by now.

You see how much better Taylor handled her sex scandal famewhore, Justin? You probably did, because Selena and Taylor are friends and your scandals came at roughly the same time, but let's go over WHY she handled her scandal better and what you might take away from this.

See, Taylor shut the fark up about it.

Her famewhore got a headline with the initial scandal. There wasn't much she could do about that. But clearly they were going for some sort of major, enduring thing. Kind of like what's happening to you now. They wanted Taylor to engage and spend half her interviews fighting them. They'd probably get immortalized in a song, they likely figured.

They didn't get that. Taylor didn't make a single public statement, at least, not personally. She just grabbed her lawyers, who made one statement- one 'let this douchebag be an example to the rest of you' statement- and then everybody shut up. No further comments. The lawyers are likely now fighting this off-camera. Taylor went on to adopt a kitty and make everyone go awwwwwww. The famewhore has made attempts to make a scandal out of it- apparently that site said they'd take the picture down if Taylor converted to Islam, for instance- but without Taylor engaging any further than absolutely, legally necessary, there's nothing to make this go on. Scandal over. Taylor wins. She likely won't be doing a song either. Songs are for people with shame.

Justin... you engaged from the very start. You gave the damn thing oxygen. You let it make the tabloid covers. You're on the morning shows. You're struggling to gain control of this, you may be starting to, but you've long since let the image of an underage baby-daddy get into people's minds. I don't think anyone's ever going to hear the phrase 'one less lonely girl' quite the same way again. Famewhore wins.

Next time, just shut up and let your lawyers do what you're paying them to do.

This! I can hate his music but damn if I was young again and of course famous I would so want to be banging her. Hell I may be double her age but she is legal and I still would want to bang her.

Some famewhore posted a picture of what it said was a "leaked" nude photo of Taylor that looks like her only in the respect that Taylor and the woman in the photo are both blond. Taylor's lawyers went after them for basically lying. Because Taylor shut up, that's it. That's the whole story.

Well this is very different. This just isn't a photo. You have a woman saying that Bieber got her pregnant and abandoned her and her baby, His major selling point is his wholesomeness. Do you think that the parents of all of those 10 and 12 year old girls would buy his music for them if they thought he was out banging groupies and impregnating and abandoning them? This is something that he had to publicly deny and then sue her for to completely prove the allegation false because if he stayed quiet and didn't respond to the allegation people would think that it was true and he was trying to buy her off.

Again. Taylor did that too- a denial and a lawsuit. But that's it. ONE statement, and then the lawyers take over. Justin is fully publicly engaged, and a lot of the damage has been done no matter how the lawsuit turns out.

These are two completely different situations. With swift you have a singer who has a large adult fan base who had a picture leaked of her. In Bieber's case you have a singer whose fanbase is almost entirely made up of children whose parents buy their music for them being accused of being a sex crazed deadbeat dad.

Bieber's case is much more serious. Swift could make one statement and let her lawyers handle it, hell the possibility of a nude picture of her might have even added to her male fanbase. Bieber had to assure his fan's PARENTS that it wasn't true and he isn't a sex crazed baby abandoner. If Bieber was dealing with adult fans, yeah he could have went the one statement route, but you know as well as I do when it comes to parents buying something that they think can influence their kids you have to assure them that it won't negatively influence them. Making just one statement and letting the lawyers deal with it wasn't going to cut it.

Except when he proves that he isn't the daddy, and is now not only more well-known, but a much more sympathetic character.

Admit it--all you red-blooded males who liked to think he was no-talent assclown (which I don't think is true either), now have at least some sympathy for him after going through what is a guy's worst nightmare.

Hey, you can garnish even a Taco Bell paycheck. Plus, given how long it'd take for her to pay off such a civil suit through garnishment, Justin can treat it like just another residual in his old age.

I wouldn't mind seeing the lawyers that are representing her get sued into oblivion. They claimed they did due diligence and that they had evidence that they had not shared with the media that proved her story. What? A concert ticket from that night?

Doing a quick search to check your potential client's criminal record might have been a good start to your due diligence effort.

Of course, I would really love for it to be his baby too.

It is easy for me to avoid his music. I don't like it, so when it comes on the radio, I change the station or turn it off.

So I want it to not only not be his kid, but I want him to go on, win multiple Grammy awards, have more #1 hits than Elvis and sell more records than Michael Jackson, just to piss off the people who seem to find it impossible not to listen to him*.

My only exposure to him is through Youtube comments and newspaper articles. How is it that you people can't avoid listening to his music?

*parents of teenage girls exempt as there is no escape.

To be fair, some people are going to think that regardless of what Bieber does (or doesn't do). By talking about it, Justin is feeding the fire. Gosling was right about how well Taylor Swift handled it, since most of us didn't even know about her "scandal" until now. Bieber should just shut up and let his lawyers do what they're paid to do.

2011-11-07 02:27:16 PM
If I were Bieber I would have made a single statement:

"The lady is lying, I have no idea who she is and have never had any close contact with her. I have submitted to a DNA test at XYZ Lab who now has my data. When she is ready to prover her allegation she can contact them. Thank you"

Presuming Bieber is the one who is telling the truth he should have tackled it like that from the get go and it would never had had the legs. If she is telling the truth, good luck Justin, you deserve the scorn.

Bingo. I'm not fond of Justin Bieber, and now I'm forced to empathize with him because of this woman's apparently spurious claim.

I still think he's actually a chick. Hell, that would make a good episode of a crime/legal drama TV show. Wholesome teen pop heartthrob gets accused of knocking up a fan who is over 18. Heartthrob is underage. Fan gets charged with statutory rape, but sticks with her story and continues to sue for child support. Finally, teen heartthrob has a bit of a conscience and doesn't want anyone to go to jail on bogus rape charges, so the teen heartthrob reveals that he couldn't possibly be the father because "he" is actually female.
