WTF is wrong with the Jets? They're up by 16 with 3 minutes to go and they risk their starting QB blocking on a running play?

In all fairness, the loss of Sanchez wouldn't be noticed by Rex for about 40 minutes of game time.

He's blocking a cornerback on a meaningless play -- it's not that big of a deal.

I think it was a nod towards Brad Smith who left them to go play with Buffalo. He was the Jets option/trick play guy. I don't think does much for the Bills.

I'm still confused as to why we didn't see more screens and the wildcat when conventional offense wasn't working. We saw one screen all day which went for a first down, and 0 wildcat plays. I don't get it.

True, but it's still farking funny that Sanchez reacts as if Florence pulled a Glock on him instead of faking the snap.

Well there's something you don't see every day: the refs picked up a flag for a late hit.

That's because it was Ed 'Pythons' Hockuli's crew, they're the best crew out there and are very fair in their calls.

/just don't bring up that one Denver game...

Pretty sure it was in the best interests of the Bills to keep Sanchez in the game.

Yea excepting that stuff last season, his crew seems the fairest in the league.

I always wondered why Brad Smith didn't get more playing time last year. I know Sanchez is the future and is playing well, and that the more you see Smith's offensive package, the less effective it will be. But last year he picked up 7.8 yards per carry. Do that more.

Cornerback should have taken the opportunity to lay a legal helmet-to-helmet hit on the QB.

He actually stunned Florence and then managed to get a good block on him

p the boiler: He actually stunned Florence and then managed to get a good block on him

If by "get a good block on him" you meant "hold him and negate the play", then I agree with this statement entirely.

If you're playing defense, there are no legal helmet-to-helmet hits.

Is there a reason every team puts their QB in at wide out in the wildcat? I just don't get it. Why not leave him on the bench? Do they not know they're going to do the play until they're in the huddle? Wouldn't a WR be more useful in that situation?

I actually thought it was a legit call, Mcknight took the snap, that makes him qb, he slid feet first surrendering himself and then got drilled on the ground. Why is that not a late hit? Is he not a qb and only qbs can do the surrender slide?

The defense is allowed to make personnel changes, which is always based on the skill players on the field. If the QB was on the bench, it would be obvious that the play would be in the Wildcat formation and the defense could prepare accordingly. With the QB on the field, the defense doesn't know that the play is a Wildcat play until the offense breaks from their huddle. The defense can no longer make substitutions.

However, I find this less effective for some offenses. For example, the Bills often use Brad Smith to run the Wildcat and they keep Fitzpatrick on the field. But 99% of the time, if Brad Smith is on the field, it's a Wildcat play. The Bills rarely use him as a WR.
