I've heard stress in the mother can affect the child's gender. Higher the stress the more likely she will have a boy.

I'm just going to take a guess and say that all the podium girls are Frenchies and all the Page 3 girls are Brits and (I peeked at the story) these two met in Los Angeles.

No. If it is true that cyclists conceive girls, it would be for the same reasons that fighter pilots and racecar drivers do: heat. Y chromosomes degrade under higher-heat situations, and sitting with your legs together in a hot environment (like the racecar), or doing a lot of exercise that involves the pelvis (cycling) will raise the testicular temp. The Y chromosomes don't handle the heat, but the X chromosomes do. Therefore, more girls.
