You're doing it wrong.

My time has come at last!!

Now they know how we've felt for the last 10,000 years

2011-11-06 03:24:43 PM
That's what the headline says but all the article says is that they are increasingly in the situation of having to either remain single or date/marry men they don't respect.

Which sounds like always, frankly.

Bullshiat, send the smart ones over here.

ArkAngel: Now they know how we've felt for the last 10,000 years

Big tits drain 20 IQ points from every heterosexual man in sight. As the frequency of enhancement surgery has increased, intelligence and success has decreased in men, as illustrated in this chart I'm too stupified to draw:

In Asia, where small breasted women have been the norm for millenia, it amounts to a catastrophic collapse of male mental function.

Well yeah, once I decided I wasn't interested in the other astrophysics PhD students in my department do you think I figured I was realistically going to find another astronomer to date? Unless I go for one of the postdocs I guess...

Fact of the matter too is most guys say they want an intelligent woman but at the end of the day will find them rather intimidating. Fortunately the ones who are actually serious in their claim are worth being patient for.

I've known girls who were smart and I've known girls who could have fun. I'm still waiting for the one who who fits both categories.

Claire Davis, 33, who works in financial services and lives in south London, told The Times: 'I have a good job, my own flat and I can pretty much do what I want, but a lot of the men I meet aren't really of the right calibre.

hehehehehehehehehehhehehehee
and you wonder WHY you are going to be single or settling?
LOLOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

as I have gotten older and still single, I have noticed that the women complaining about their not being anyone to date or having to settle are MISSING one important fact.
the common POINT IS YOU! this guy is too fat. too poor. too crude. too ugly. too stupid. too uninteresting. too crazy. too boring. too lazy. too whatever.

strangely enough, they had one thing in common. you. you are the problem. period.

/strange, that is the thing that I am working on in therapy. ME. why did I constantly date broken/crazy women? wasnt them. it was me. period.
/give me ANY single woman and I promise you that there is SOMETHING WRONG with them. they want perfect. they want this, they want that, they want to change this, change that. rather than, oh hey look, this guy is nice and doesnt hit me.
/yes of course you shouldnt settle. you should wait until you are in your late 30s and then never stop complaining.

bikerdiva: We get snatched up pretty quickly, I'm afraid. :)

I have noticed that my non-crazy females friends are all paired up.
SIGH

that leaves crazy women.
so now I am looking for a crazy women who has started working on fixing the crazy. at least that is a start. :D

I solved that problem with my current girlfriend. We're both smart, but in different ways. She likes math and hard science. I like politics, social science, and English.

I know.

And then there's the ones who THINK they're a nice catch and bemoan the fact that they're not snatched up. Meanwhile if they'd just shut their mouth once in awhile and say yes to shiat they don't really want to do but with people they like they'd have found "the one" a dozen times over. That's how men have done for ages. You think any man likes dancing?

I wouldn't mind that at all because I'm interested in a great number of things, it's just eventually they make you pick one occupation so I decided astronomy covers literally everything in the universe, right? I actually really enjoyed dating humanities guys because they knew a lot about things I didn't, but then I moved to Holland and haven't run into many of them here yet.

I agree. The dutch are inhuman.

The problem is all about this power dynamic. My sister is much smarter than my brother in law... I've seen her act dumber around him and just give in to his general stupidity.

It's not that I blame her. Her boyfriends before she met him were Neanderthals by comparison. I just think that an awful lot of men have this huge ego about feeling smarter than everyone in the room.

Sometimes it sucks knowing how petty other people are and generally overlooking their shortcomings so you can have a normal life.

2011-11-06 05:10:02 PM
Yeah, I know my wife had to settle for a dumb one...

2011-11-06 05:23:31 PM
Lemme guess... women who think they know it all are saying they have to settle down or remain single.

2011-11-06 05:34:16 PM
If you feel like you're "dumbing down" to find a man to marry, you should probably consider not getting married. I'd rather be single than be with someone I didn't respect.

2011-11-06 05:34:30 PM

Fat, ugly, smelly, too many cats, etc.

She wants us to accept her EXACTLY as she is, but expects us to change.
She wants to be treated as an equal, which she asserts means doing things her way, not the way you have always done things.

/yes, I know EXACTLY why I am single.

Hold out for a good mate or stay single.

You win either way.

andyfromfl: Right. Because women are definitely smarter than men are.

50% of the women are graduating college vs 40% of the men.
I guess that implies that college women will only marry college men. And they wonder why they are still single??

2011-11-06 05:40:29 PM
If you're dating or socializing specifically to find a person to marry, then I bet dumbing down really isn't an issue. Everyone smarter than you has found someone less worried about petty shaite.

From the few interactions I seen with intelligent women and their husbands/boyfriend they have a tendency to beat them over the head with their intelligence and look down on them. Intimidation is one thing, abuse is another.

meh
I have dated MUCH smarter than me, much dumber, less educated, more educated and in the end only dumber was a problem. dumb people cant learn things, less educated can learn new things.

BUT CRAZY??? That is bone deep.

Why is an astrophysicist so important? I can see looking for someone in the sciences, but is that much overlap needed? or just a "dating" while still in school thing?
