why was this guy denied free food? the article doesn't even bother to explain. and your source is fox news.
therefore, i cannot give any credence to your argument.

2011-11-06 01:02:16 AM
Source is NY Post, which is somewhat less credible even than FN.

If they applied at McDonalds, they might get a job and get to have some of the left-over hamburgers at the end of the night.

Actually Subby, I'm still not convinced that the "Occupy" participants are self-entitled douchebags.

Still.

The one month per $10K was pre-Obama.

IronTom: If they applied at McDonalds, they might get a job

Yes, everyone who applies to McDonalds gets hired. It's a proven fact.

I mean seriously, there are jobs out there. Why don't these people just APPLY??

/have applied to hundreds in the last 3 years and never even got the courtesy of a reply from any of them
//college degree, excellent work history, blah blah

2011-11-06 01:26:58 AM
IronTom: That is statistically improbable. In recent history it takes about a month for every $10K you want in order to find a job. So, it sounds like there is something messed up in your job search.

Oh. You mean the Eighties?

So CEOs should pretty much be unemployable, then.

as someone who was looking for employment, let me tell you, you really have to sell yourself. not even as someone who is looking to make massive amounts of money in their job, you really really really really need to sell yourself.

None of us like it, but thankfully it only happens twice a year. We're good now until next spring when we put the clocks foward again.

I'm confused as to how it would happen in the spring. Fall, I get, we've got two 1:00 - 1:59s. Wouldn't springing forward just cause there to be an hour in which nothing is said (2:00 - 2:59)?

In other news, FOX still terrified of OWS.

2011-11-06 08:23:15 AM
boy fox news and the far right are terrified of OWS, aren't they? unlike their astroturfed "tea party," this is actual grassroots political action happening here. and it threatens to finally expose the appalling injustice in our economic system.

so, keep it up, murdoch - you're only propagating the story.

So, he was an OWS protester... but he wasn't on Wall Street. Unless they built a people's McDonald's in Zuccotti Park I'm going to call shenanigans.

I used to support OWS, but this incident has completely changed my view.

Some guy, who was seen at some undefined point in the park where people are protesting, much later did something wrong far from the actual protest. Therefore, the protesters' arguments are invalid.

That's not even ad hominem. I'm not sure what that is.

2011-11-06 10:03:13 AM
U mad, subby?

2011-11-06 10:03:15 AM
yeah, yeah, for some reason the right wing seems to think if they disparage the people protesting it will somehow magically make people support tax cuts for the rich and bank bailouts and other corporate welfare.

I was just in Williston ND. McDonnalds is offering $15/hr to start. You don't wanna know what WalMart is paying night stockers, but it's strange to walk through a store that big with all the shelves a quarter stocked.

On the way there, I stopped by the Occupy Missoula protest and offered a ride to people if they were looking for work, strangely nobody took me up on my offer.

Probably an isolated incident. Maybe a conservative plant.

Yeah, I totally jump into the car of random strangers offering me a job all the time! Those protesters are just nuts.

2011-11-06 10:06:51 AM
This one dumbass clearly represents the entire movement, so vote Republican.

2011-11-06 10:08:03 AM
Someone that the NY Post says is an OWS protestor did something crazy in a McDonald's nowhere near the actual protest. This certain makes the entire movement illegitimate. The only thing that could be a bigger blow to the movement would be if the movement had a proclaimed leader who then held up a sign with the N word on it. Because if something as crazy as that were to happen, the media would have no choice but to condemn everyone there.

2011-11-06 10:09:52 AM
This news story really made ma laugh.

2011-11-06 10:10:58 AM
OMG stop the presses, singular American individual acts like douchebag!! Imagine if there wasn't a social movement happening nearby and someone had done this, I wonder if the media would have picked up on it then??

You think someone should move 700 miles away for a job at a Wal mart? That's your solution?

anyone need a job?

Rohar

North Dakota has by far the lowest unemployment rate in the country. Most of the US isn't so lucky as to have 3.5% unemployment - my state of Massachusetts is doing relatively well compared to the national average, but it still has twice that.

/And pretty much all the states with jobs are rural and have small populations. There aren't enough jobs there for the nation's unemployed.

Hey subby, how about turning off Faux news and talk radio and actually visiting one of the protests to form your own opinion for a change instead of repeating the party line. Granted with your mindset it might not change but take out the filter that is feeding you the opinions that you repeat and open you mind for a minute.
