Are you kidding? Look at all the attention Ricky's antics brought to the Golden Globes ceremony. Attention doesn't have to be positive to be useful.

If you bring up the Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais is the second thing that is mentioned behind Sofia Vergara

Has Gervais confirmed this? He made a slightly cryptic tweet about it, but there's nothing on his blog about it.

He simply has to get Pilkington involved somehow if he is doing the Globes again.

All I know is that nobody rips on Tim Allen during my watch and gets away with it!

His jokes were branded "unacceptable" by organizers HFPA, despite NBC's ratings increasing last year.

Guess which one of those things is more important in show business.

OMG he made fun of celebrities...the horror!

I think the person that failed to learn their lesson is anyone who thought Ricky Gervais shouldn't host again.

There's nothing wrong with ripping on celebrities, especially at a celebrity congratulatory awards show. Especially one as lame as the Golden Globes. In fact, it should be mandatory. I dunno, he just seemed like kind of a douchebag about it.

Man, I hope this happens. You KNOW he's just going to keep trying to see how far he has to go before they really do stop asking him. And I'm all for that.

But if he's smart? He'll do the TRULY unexpected, and play it nice as pie. That would REALLY be subversive.

This. He just seems like a d-bag in general. Even when he's playing off of that, like in his Curb Your Enthusiasm cameo.

I think that they want to invite him back just so that they can kill him on live TV in front of all of the stars he insulted last year.

That would be the icing on the cake for me, for sure.

It would be great if he played it straight and disappointed all the idiots that are willing to cash in on his name after all the "outrage". I was hoping he would do the web-cast thing instead though.

Maybe this time he'll actually wear the Hitler outfit.

I mean, look at him. Except instead of blood, he feeds on treacle and stores it in his cheeks.

Award shows are a real snoozefest of celebrities huffing their own farts. With someone like Gervais to rock the boat, at least it becomes watchable.

Exactly this. And asking him back -- and getting SHOCKSUPRISE free publicity for it -- is exactly what lots of us predicted after the last show.

/good for him, though
//I heard he needs the money to buy new houndstooth bedsheets
