More like "obvious".... "Pro-Family" to these people basically "no abortions and help make the US a Christian theocracy". Everything else is not all that important, like, supporting your owns kids.

Just put an R next to your name?

he's living a life of illusion.

Christians and Republicans are simply the sunniest of hypocrites. This douche probably laughed in his limo all the way home after hearing the news.

2011-11-04 12:38:37 PM
Come on. He didn't mean his family. He meant he wants to define what your family should be or do.

Holy shiat that's some serious money.

2011-11-04 12:55:27 PM
make me some tea: Holy shiat that's some serious money.

You mean the $117k that he's behind in child support?

Maybe he should have used some of the $35k he loaned his campaign this year to pay down some of his children's bills.

2011-11-04 01:05:26 PM
I don't understand why his income hasn't been attached by the court. There are states that will put you in jail for non-payment. Probably too much political clout.

2011-11-04 01:05:39 PM
The guy is a piece of garbage.

2011-11-04 01:16:40 PM
I was going to be very disappointed if this wasn't Joe Walsh.

"Cong. Walsh and other 'True Blue Members' have voted to repeal Obamacare, de-fund Planned Parenthood, end government funding for abortion within the health care law, uphold the Defense of Marriage Act, and continue support for school choice," said FRCA President Tony Perkins

Can you imagine how amazing families will be after all this is accomplished?

oooorrrrr...he could use some of that $174K congressional salary to put a dent in those arrears. Just sayin'

That sucks, but it's still not as hypocritical as the CPS judge filmed beating his disabled 14-year-old daughter.

Link, in case it hasn't popped up on Fark yet, I haven't seen a thread on it.

2011-11-04 01:31:57 PM
Sure he could use his money to make sure his children can eat and have a roof over their heads, but by him running for Congress he's making their lives EXTRA BETTER because, while they'll freeze and starve to death, they can do so knowing that a gay couple can't get married!

Come on! That's not 1% money. That's barely enough to live on by himself, much less support his ex-wife's kid! I bet she's totally lying about him even being the father.

I just posted this to the FRC on their site.

"Congratulations on your recognition of Joe Walsh as a True Blue member of Congress.

Your recognition is the clearest message possible that the FRC believes child abandonment is a "family value."

Keep fighting that good fight you religious hypocrites!"

ah, thanks. I never saw the original story come up. That one really messed me up, I'm probably better off for not having waded into it.

The Family Research Council Action Committee has lauded freshman Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) for his "unwavering support of the family," despite the fact that Walsh's ex-wife claims he owes her more than $100,000 in child support payments.

Well, if his wife claims it, it must be true.

Well it isn't like he was held in contempt of court for being so far behind on his child support payments. I mean the only way you could verify that would with some type of indexed search engine of the World Wide Web.

But who are you going to believe, a mother/wife and circuit court judge or Tea Party favourite Joe Walsh?

And a judge told him to prove she's wrong - a requirement his attorney agreed to.

It's a good thing you didn't put Joe Walsh > Tim Tebow or they'd have deleted it.

With this group's track record, they'll probably name that Judge William Adams 'Father of the Year' for taking the time to discipline his daughter.

Dude, those were facts. That's mean, you know serial_crusher is allergic to those. Or afraid of them maybe. Whatever it is, he keeps them very far away and you just totally shoved some of them down his throat just the way he likes it.

The article looks pretty tight and well-written to me. Complete with citations, names and other supporting information. Everything you need to know to be properly outraged by this idiot and his supporters with the necessary details if you want to do some more digging yourself.

I was referring to this thread (new window).

I suppose a better equation is: slime-sucking pond scum > Joe Walsh. How can anyone hold that guy up as an example of 'family values' and not be embarrassed? I guess the only family to be valued is one that's 100% hetero regardless of how dysfunctional it is.

/if someone can tell me under which leaf gay babies are born I'll pick up a couple to raise the next time I'm out.

The proper parallel would have been giving the Nobel Peace prize to Bush. The fact that the Nobel committee knew Obama was going to end 2 wars and ratify a nuclear non-proliferation treaty with Russia is just impressive.

This can't possibly be true.

No asterisk?

No knowing nudge and wink?

No weasel words?

Not even a disclaimer that they think his wife is a lying, moneygrubbing whore? Just an out and out wide-eyed declaration that this deadbeat scumbag has demonstrated "unwavering support of the family" without any mention whatsoever of his 6 figure child support arrearage?

Freaking wow, man.

Well. There will be nothing left for them but to pray for a better afterlife. So if they go to church and scrape a few nickels together for the offering plate, its all good

"I take care of my kids." You're supposed to, you dumb motherfarker! What kind of ignorant shiat is that? "I ain't never been to jail!" What do you want, a cookie?! You're not supposed to go to jail, you low-expectation-having motherfarker!

49I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

50But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
