I was going to say interquel before reading NeedlesslyCanadian's post so let's declare it the correct word and move on with life.

2011-11-04 11:02:55 AM
Will it have Scott and Jean meeting for the first time?

X-Men First Class was good. The sequel might suck but it could easily be better than the other comic book shiat that comes out.

I want a movie with the original five being gathered by a bald man in a wheel chair.

I think everyone would like that. Maybe the sequel will have that. The first one could have been the prototype X-Men and then the second one will have the actual X-Men.

Just ask George Lucas.

2011-11-04 12:18:38 PM
Okay, as long as there isn't a third movie. Well all know where that ends up.

It better have Wolverine.

Tweenquel.

Thank god. There are just not enough comic book movies these days.

The first one had Wolverine (for about 5 seconds).

Nyquil, it will put you to sleep.

I'm sure it will be Second Class.

Doesn't need Wolverine. I thought there was a Deadpool movie in the works.

Apparently, they've found a director. Looks like the movie's been stuck in development hell for the past 6 years or so.

Why? While he may not be the worst X-Man character aren't you thoroughly sick of his Mary Sue ass yet?

Michael Fassbender as Magneto was brilliant. His German (and his French) were spot on.

Yeah, and Germans usually speak English with an Irish accent.

I'd rather have Femke Jannsen naked, thanks.

I want a movie with the original five being gathered by a bald man in a wheel chair.

He wasn't always in a wheelchair. He walks up to tot-Jean's house at the start of the 3rd movie, in a '20 years ago...' sequence.

I hope they touch on the fact that Juggernaut* is (was) Prof. X's (half) brother. (Apparently he dies with everyone else at the end of the 3rd, but you never see him again after Shadowcat rescues Mutant X from the lab (after admitting he '[doesn't] swim]' (and they're on Alcatraz), plus they could just work a prequel of him, which would really rock because there's not enough movies where the bad guys win in the end (and there needs to be more of those, since, as you can see from the state of the US economy, the bad guys always win in the end).

Fassbender was born in Germany but grew up in in Ireland.

Not sure how you could resolve those competing accents without one or the other getting wrecked.

/your biggest problem was the nerdrage causing your neckbeard to flare up and obscure a decent flick.

urban.derelict: /*who was an explorer who found an ancient rock-artifact which gave him his powers

He wasn't an explorer. He was a US soldier in the Korean War and was deserting. Anyway, that's how the story originally went.

Nope. I loved it. Best of the bunch IMO. Looking forward to this especially if it's with the same cast. Please god let them keep the same chick for mystique. I get hard just looking at that babe.

Some guy right here on Fark got so angry with me when the trailer came out and I said he sounded Irish. The dude accused me of not knowing what an Irish accent sounds like.
Well, f*ck you whoever you were. Fassbender sounded like Paddy O'Flynn, German Jew, and that's all there is to it.

I just saw it this past weekend. Fantastic in my opinion for the genre. Very well cast, a solid story, good effects, and I think they did a good job tying it into the first two movies (let us just pretend there was no third). And I applaud them going with some of the less popular mutants for this story (though I did enjoy the cameo).

The one thing that bothered me about the first movies is you were just supposed to understand Magneto and Charles had been friends since you were told, but were never shown how or why. It's so central to the plot and the behavior and core of both characters I always felt it deserved actual screen time. It took something away from the story in my opinion. I think First Class did an excellent job of establishing that background.

And it's been said, but Fassbender absolutely nailed the Magneto role. I liked Mckellen's version, but I felt Fassbender did a much better job at depicting the Magneto from the comics I read growing up.

All that said, I'd wish they would leave well enough alone and avoid a sequel, but who didn't see this coming? Hope it doesn't suck.

First Class was great, almost made me forget about the nonsense in Last Stand.

The canon's a little weird if you think about it too much. Sometimes it's clearly a direct prequel to the rest of the X-Men movies (Rebecca Romijn & Hugh Jackman cameos), and other times it's a reboot (hairless Beast, Professor X walking up to Jean Grey's house). I guess that's comic books for you...

Can't we all agree what Fox needs to do with the Wolverine license is make a Wolverine movie that involves Omega Red, because he is awesome.

/Omega Red!

Still pissed with the end of First Class. Really should have saved Magneto's turn till at least the second film. A growing friction between Charles and Magneto would have been much better that the quick turn we got.

I hear ya. I'm sure they just weren't sure they'd make a second film.
