I immediately pictured a big, wide ass in worn out sweat pants (riding up the crack) with several screaming, unwashed kids tagging along. Is that a Walmart mom? Am I close?

"It's discouraging to me that he's not doing what he said he's going to do. When he was campaigning, it was change, change, change, and I don't see any change," she said.

It's an understandable concern for someone who is accustomed to the wildly varied, thrill-a-minute life of shopping at WalMart. How will Obama try to appeal to such a dynamic and unpredictable voter base?

I'm going to be a father in a week and most of the items I bought were from Walmart... same item (crib, stroller, car seat) at other stores would have been 10-15 dollars more expensive or if they had the same price they'd charge 30 bucks shipping because they were big items. Walmart provides free delivery to a close store so they got my business.

Cheryl Abbarno was the most excited she's ever been about a presidential election when Barack Obama was on the ballot in 2008, but she isn't sure she'll vote for him again.

"It's discouraging to me that he's not doing what he said he's going to do. When he was campaigning, it was change, change, change, and I don't see any change," she said.

My second cousins are mostly illegitimate parents. Some have married and divorced, most have just had babies without "benefit" of marriage. There's a lot of WIC, food stamps, and unemployment involved. They hate Fartbongo, hate welfare, hate abortion, and love Jesus.

My adult cousin who is a deputy sheriff truly believes Fartbongo is a Muslim. She's the most-employed of the lot, responsible, still married, etc. And yet she refers to "mosque-builders" and "Obama's people".

If Fartbongo is relying on the South, particularly low or no-income people in the South, he is up shiat's Creek with a turd for a paddle.

Fark. I'd be happy if they just realized they were ignorant as all hell. You can go ahead and hold a bunch of contradictory opinions in your head all you like. Just stop sharing them. They are stupid and wrong. And people shouldn't be subjected to it. And even THAT is unrealistic, as expectations go.

Americans LOVE being loud and stupid for some reason. And the smarter people get, the quieter they become, as a natural consequence of slowly realizing that you've... shockingly... been wrong about things. A lot of things. For a long time. And maybe you don't know it all and should refrain from talking about it until you do. We muffking adore ignorance up in this piece, gnomesaiyan?

Sometimes you've got no choice but to shop at Wal-Mart: for example you may not have the money to go to a competitor or perhaps you're out in the sticks where Wal-Mart's the only game in town.

Leaving that aside, we simply need a smarter electorate in this country. We need an electorate full of critical thinkers, people who are at least smart enough to see through the blatant lies they're being told. But with the attention given reality show hacks, I'm not hopeful about this.

Nothing I can do about it as I don't have the money to pay extra for every item I need because I haven't had a raise over 2% in the past 5 years (2% barely covers inflation).

For example, the only crib I found that was not made in China was $75 more... the cheapest stroller/infant seat combo not made in China was over $100 more expensive.

If I was paid better I'd be more picky where I shop. In today's economy I can't afford that.

The crib, yes. The carseat, probably not so much. The next question is, why does it have to be new? Why not used?
