My only question is: What left leaning farker here doesn't think the White House is behind the OWS movement?

Three days before an Occupy Oakland protest turned violent...

Gerard serves on the board of a number of groups funded by billionaire George Soros, including organizations that reportedly helped to craft Obama's "stimulus" and health-care laws.

A WND review of Gerard's rhetoric during the past year finds scores of statements implying an Occupy onslaught against U.S. capitalism.

So many things to choose from. Let me just summarize with a picture.

Yeah, and that hasn't worked out so far. And this - "OMG! He used the word 'militant'! He's obviously a seditious traitor encouraging violence and hate against the rich - that's un-American! Get 'em!" - is just another angle.

We've had everything from "gay mafia did it" to "unions did it" to "ACORN did it" to "Obama did it", because it never occurs to them that "people did it." and they need a bogeyman that will play well with the ignorant, easily-led morons that make up their constituency. I mean, the teabaggers couldn't get started without a multi-million dollar "nudge" and a game plan provided by PACs, right-wing politicians and the Koch-suckers, so obviously OWS couldn't have done this on their own.

Obama and the democrats went down a dangerous road by encouraging this sort of class warfare. When OWS radicals realize that their little demonstrations get them nothing except arrest records, they're going to get frustrated. We can expect to see more and more rioting like there was in Oakland. Voters will know who to blame.

I'm pretty sure quite a few of those folks were protesting in the 60's. They have become that which they used to hate most, and will never realize it.

right wing agent provocateurs causing trouble in Oakland? It's more likely than you think. We've already had 3 that have been caught. O'Keefe,Howley and Maloney. I'd almost bet that Brietbart,Koch,Armey and the rest are paying their bail if they get caught too. They may even be funding them. Possibly flying them in like they did in 2000 in Fla. to stop the vote recount.

Funny that the song asks for a plan which is something that the OWS can't articulate

It also is against violence which the OWS croud demonstrated that they can't control themselves.

So you're telling me that Obama started a populist movement airing major grievances with the established authority structure while he's in charge of the established authority structure?

That crafty bastard.

Truth is, OWS is filled with people who elected Obama expecting change and didn't get it. A few things changed, to be sure, and he's at least managed to slap a tourniquet on the wound, but he hasn't done a whole lot to prevent the issues from happening again, and the rich are still getting richer while the poor and middle class get poorer. Some of that is because of his own corporate backers, some of that is because the Republicans block him, but regardless, he is currently part of the problem.

Time will tell if he becomes part of the solution instead, or if he's just paying lip service.

Pretty much this.

I love the creepy reactionary undertone here, though -- passionate righteous indignation is only valid when it accords with the grievances of the wealthy and powerful.

All other instances of protest are entirely bankrupt of morality and unAmerican.
