Yeah, I'm really gonna feel sad for the guy making three million a year because the rich bastards on both sides want more money. I'm getting evicted on Tuesday because I can't afford my rent and this guy wants to make a statement? Fark you.

Somehow TA managed to turn the noodles over while passing them out.

With all the organizational efforts the NBA Players Association must go through during a time like this, they didn't send out a warning saying 'Dear Players, Let's please not try to make individual statements during this difficult time in the interests of us all not looking like ignorant, douchnozzles. Please feel free to continue giving that appearance through large amounts of stupid tattoos and the way you treat your wives/baby mamas'.

I assume he was just joking, but it's better than a toothbrush or a Chick tract. I would suggest upgrading to a cup-o-noodles though. As a kid, I would have been thrilled to get one of those.

Nine billion dollars.

$9,000,000,000.00.

Enough to buy 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, for a full year, for 234,668 people (at $5/meal) - that's roughly the population of Madison, WI, Lubbock, TX, Jersey City, NJ, Orlando, FL, or Norfolk, VA.

That's the size of the pie that the NBA and players are content to NOT divide while the season falls apart.

Nine billion dollars - of which, they're quibbling over, what, $500M? Not pocket change, but howzabout everyone agrees to an 11% pay cut, and any extra revenue gets plowed back into the cities that host the teams?

The citizens paid for your stadia and they would happily pay for tickets, concessions and a date with a cheerleader, but now they sit dormant while you fight over how much of our money you would each get to keep (if there were games to sell tickets to).

I dunno, zero is always less than some nonzero percentage of 9 freaking BILLION dollars, and to lose a whole season means losing every single one of those 900 billion pennies. (To lose a fraction of the season, in turn, is losing a larger portion of that $9B than you would through negotiation.)

// would a stack that size reach the moon?
// how much is that in Rhode Islands?

stadii?

I take particular offense to this as I used to do this when I lived in Floriduh. I would give candy out to the little kids and ramen to the kids that were to old to be trick or treating. This jerk stole my schtick!

How is ramen cheaper than giving out the fun size candy bars? Aren't each ramen package around 10-20 cent each? I mean, yeah, it is cheaper than full size candy bars, but, ok, give out the fun size like all the non rich people do.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

900,000,000,000 pennies would stretch just over 1.3 million kilometers, or a little less than 3 1/2 trips to the moon.

If I were rich, I'd give out bags of candy. Any kind you want (within reason).

But I'm not rich, so I handout hot cocoa sampler boxes.

Stacked - one penny is about 1.45 millimeters.

/Huh-huh... you said "stacked"
