Wait, that was Rudy.

Pretty much a carbon copy of what's happening with the Occupy KC protest. Because of their proximity to the Fed, the Fed guards have to patrol by it several times a night. They also use heat-monitoring equipment, and noticed that, while it's a 30+ tent 'city', there was NO measurable heat, body or otherwise, coming from the makeshift encampment at night. Tuesday evening, a pretty decent wind/rain shower blew through. Driving by the next day, almost half the tents were blown over, nothing in them.

So, essentially. people have tried to make a protest look way more occupied than it really is, and some have still not even come by to check on their windblown tents. It's really just sad. Commitment to the cause...FTW!!!!!

Occupy Saint Paul probably met a similar demise after it was discovered that it's shiatty to sleep outside when the temperature gets below 20 degrees.

Does that make him the 1%? No wonder no one wants to hang around him.

Maybe they are at work. Over half of the lincoln NE occupiers work or go to school, so during the day it is quite dead.

I work downtown and I didn't even know we had an Occupy KC.

I'm jealous of all those protesters; they seem to come from money or some kind of privilege. To be able to take all that time, sitting around, not working....even travelling to Europe (which some "occupants" have done).

Me? I have a mortgage...I have to work to live. And yeah, I've been out of work - my strategy then was to try and FIND work.

I just love the irony of these "anti-capitalist" protesters all coming from some means...well educated, well outfitted, well with plenty of time and money.

I'm just a middle-class Joe...these occupy protesters don't speak for me.

The Omaha ones are moving to Elmwood Park between the north and south campuses of UNO. Because, you know, nothing says 'sticking it to the man' than camping in the 2nd nicest park in town, surrounded by the biggest university in Omaha and a golf course.

Actually, that sounds like fun. They have volleyball nets, basketball courts, a baseball diamond, a little villa-thing, nice trails, and even exercise equipment. If it wasn't getting colder by the day, I'd just say I was a protestor, and camp there. They're getting a special permit to do that, so whatever.

The problem with Occupy South Bend is that you have to...

Occupy South Bend.

The fact that you have to work that hard for so little while still paying taxes is what's wrong with the situation.
These companies have been getting subsidies for "job creation" - which they aren't doing - while still not paying any taxes thanks to shady corporate tax loopholes. The entire system is designed to maintain the status-quo of oligarchy with complacent workforce. Much like the privatization of the prison system and passage of stricter sentencing guidelines along with new criminal legislation was designed to create a slave labor system.

Can't we hate the system while simultaneously hating the hypocrites in the ranks of the dissenters?

Oh yeah! Drive by the Fed. They are right in front of where the shipping container IOU/USA 'sculpture' was. (Liberty Memorial area) Looks like a mini, dilapitated tent city.

Urban camping at the Lincoln occupy on the capital mall is pretty fun too, despite the lack of trails and sports equipment. I prefer actual camping, where things are not packed so close together and sanitation requires a cathole a short walk away from the campsite and path... but this has been a new and fun experiment.

may not have all tho is quite nice too, The only thing that would really improve is having access to more than a single chemical toilette.

ThreeEdgedSword: Go Irish?

That is a fine sentiment, but remember that wherever they go there is bound to be someone there to tell them to go elsewhere.
