The case is still in the embryonic stages, so it's not that eggciting.

All puns aside, egging a car is like kicking a puppy. It's a minor crime but it shows that the person who did it has psychological issues, and perhaps a lack of empathy.

The psychological issue is called being a teenager. But egg on a car's paint will ruin it if it is allowed to dry. We used to have neighborhood egg wars, where teams of boys would chase one another and hit each other with eggs. The more clever of us would plan in advance and leave a few eggs out in the sun for about a month to get really ripe. It was harmless fun and (almost) no one's property was damaged.

We used to have bottle rocket wars. Shockingly, nobody was ever injured.

And it will damage exterior house paint.

The problem with saying it is a teenager problem is the fact that non-teenagers will do it too. Perhaps it is also a low-class thing? An immature thing? What could cause someone to have a complete disdain for other people's health and property?

I don't think it has anything to do with class. I live in a very affluent area and it happens in my neighborhood, too. So does the harmless lawn papering. But some of these well-bred boys do something that they should go to juvie for if caught. They will speed through neighborhoods late at night, going through peoples' yards, doing as much damage to the landscaping as possible. This happened in my neighborhood a couple of years ago. I just had some dug up grass, but one of my neighbors suffered $40K in damage and his wasn't the worst. The cops said that they knew the boys live in the area, as they are always on the lookout for people who obviously don't live in the area. But one kid lost his front bumper. It was from a Mercedes.

They better say an Eggs Benediction, because only divine help will get them out of this hash.
