She's still in movies?

Yeah, I still have a crush on her.

DNRTFA, but...

I assume this means she's the most OVERpaid actor. Not necessarily the highest paid.

It's similar to those MVP awards they're always giving out in sports. Usually they give it to the BEST player in the league without considering how valuable he might be to their team.

Alex Rodriguez may have been the best player in the league at one point, but if you took him off the Yankees roster they'd still be pretty good. To me, that's not a valuable player.

I'd give her a return of 40 cents on the dollar

/ Will Ferrell can EABOD though

Land of the Lost was pretty good stoner comedy.

2011-11-04 02:05:34 AM
I didn't know she was still alive... oh well.

2011-11-04 02:10:47 AM
FTA Her 2009 film Everybody's Fine earned only $16 million globally and her 2007 film Lucky You brought in only $8 million. He's Just Not That Into You, which Barrymore produced and appeared in, did better earning $180 million globally but we didn't count it because Barrymore wasn't really the star of the film.

they also left out the movie 'whip it' which made money it wasn't a blockbuster but it still turned a profit.

Stupid list is stupid.

Eddie murphy comes in second (if you dont count that shrek made billions) That theres some great matrhemetitionising right there.

Evil Kirk vs Bad Ash: Land of the Lost was pretty good stoner comedy.

Pineapple Express
was good stoner comedy....Land Of The Lost was the cinematic equivalent of a heroin overdose.

Speaking of repugnant, could someone explain how a rom com could possibly have a $120 million budget? Even with marketing included, that seems a tad ridiculous.

Apos: could someone explain how a rom com could possibly have a $120 million budget? Even with marketing included, that seems a tad ridiculous.

At least half that figure went to the not-cheap A-list cast and the writer/director (the usually very reliably excellent James L. Brooks).
What remained was spent on a lot of on-location shooting (never cheap) and lots of reshoots (very much ditto).

I'll wager that that's the last mega-budgeted rom-com to be greenlit for a looooong time.

The truth:

The most overpaid actors happen to be anyone who appeared in those shiatty Twilight movies.

Not...THE James L. Brooks of The Simpsons ? What....the....hell?!

And yeah,no studio would be foolish enough to make that mistake again.

And another equally disturbing observation: Nicolas Cage is a MORE bankable star than Denzel Washington now? What madness is this?

One and the same. Also of Broadcast News and As Good As It Gets and Terms of Endearment and Taxi and The Mary Tyler Moore Show (along with a lot of other usually decent-to-excellent stuff) fame.
When he failed he failed big.

And another equally disturbing observation: Nicolas Cage is a MORE bankable star than Denzel Washington now? What madness is this?

Probably through the sheer quantity of work (as it can't possibly be the quality). Cage is in about roughly 2.5 million movies a year. Denzel is in about 1 every other year.

2011-11-04 03:19:11 AM
And a lot of Cage's films are (eventually) quite profitable for their backers.

Um ,, how bout no. The most over paid actor would be Adam Sandler, or Will Ferrill, or several mindless Hollywood shlubs who make ten times more then her for half the output. I like Drew Barrymore.

/Just watched "Firestarter" the other night.
/50 1st Dates was awesome despite Sandler.
/One of "The new Dakota sisters" before that became popular.
/She flashed Lettermen.
/Bath her and bring her to my room.
/She deserves every god damn cent.
/Unlike horse fades.

I actually never made it through it. If I had, I may have pulled a Chapman on Ferrill. He needs to die a slower death then Belushi or Candy or Farely and even then,,,, looking back? he won't be funney. As much as I'm repelled by Adam Sandlers so called comedy, I would suck his cock in hell with Jimmy Fallen stuffing a dildo up my ass before atempting to watch that movie again.

No, the most overpaid actor is Rob Schneider. Whatever he's paid, it's too much.

2011-11-04 06:27:02 AM
Ah, Drew Barrymore. Once upon a time, years ago, someone called her Lispy Potatoface, and now that's all I can think of when I see her.

2011-11-04 06:27:26 AM
She can't act and she's not attractive. If you paid her $1 she would be overpaid. Same goes for Cameron Diaz.

Yeah, I never really got the whole Cameron Diaz thing or the suspension of belief that leads to someone who believes that Drew Barrymore was ever really an actor.

You know, I'll have to agree. She stinks as an actor, and a producer.

Easy on the eyes, and seems like a very cool girl, but she does have a bit of an overprivileged stoner vibe thing going.

2011-11-04 08:04:52 AM
SilentStrider: I'll buy that.

Tom Greene's sloppy seconds?

2011-11-04 08:12:26 AM
She produced and starred in Donnie Darko...which makes her ok in my book.

I'd hit that like a nuclear powered jackhammer on steriods.

ET was on HBO on Wednesday, I forgot how good she was in that movie. Its a shame her career climaxed so early, but she is a terrible actress with an annoying voice.

/and that roller derby movie, I hate what its done for inspiring girls to roller derby
//If I have to walk through Davis Square and have another person come up to me on roller skates asking me to go to their pathetic league I'm going to ignore them and continue on my way to Red Bones and then the Burren

Please do not ever use the term "rom-com" again. It makes me very angry for some reason.
Also, Drew Barrymore has a big chin and she co-starred with Adam Sandler. Therefore, I do not like her. Adam Sandler can EABOD too.

That was horrible. The music was awful. The "story" was lame. The acting was bland. This just reinforces the idea that she sucks.

Sports columnist have tainted what MVP means. It definitely means most valuable in terms of actual value. If you took all the players in the league with their production for that season which one would fetch the most in an open auction? No keepers, no marketing value or anything like that just players 1 through 750. Which stats would you pay the most for? How each person value each statistic is the real talking point.

Off with her head.

Wait, has she even DONE anything lately?

Pay attention, folks- Barrymore, along with Demi Moore, is one of the biggest producers in Hollywood. She's smart enough to know that looks aren't forever and that producing is where the real money/power is at.

Smart girl, nice rack, crooked mouth.

The actors in the Twilight movies may be shiate (don't know, never seen 'em, never will), but with the money the movies are making they're probably underpaid.
