Your browser's too mainstream. It's not hipster enough to have heard of a barrel roll or a Google

But do it without the quotes, or it won't work.

My claim to fame in junior high school was that I could finish Star Fox without losing a life, so I appreciate this on a much deeper level than you.

2011-11-03 03:36:47 PM
Hmm ... apparently it also works if you type in "Z or R twice" (without quotes)

For people who don't have it working, I'm guessing NoScript or lack of Java is your problem.

2011-11-03 03:56:50 PM
Doesn't work in my ancient version of Firefox.

2011-11-03 03:59:14 PM
My elation at this is only eclipsed by my disappointment that "use the boost to get through" does nothing.

Google hates me, because it doesn't work.

The really impressive thing (to me) is that it is done with CSS.
Looks like it should work with Opera and Mozilla- or Webkit-based browsers if they're new enough to support those CSS3 transformations.

@-moz-keyframes roll { 100% { -moz-transform: rotate(360deg); } }

@-o-keyframes roll { 100% { -o-transform: rotate(360deg); } }

@-webkit-keyframes roll { 100% { -webkit-transform: rotate(360deg); } }

body{ -moz-animation-name: roll; -moz-animation-duration: 4s; -moz-animation-iteration-count: 1;

-o-animation-name: roll; -o-animation-duration: 4s; -o-animation-iteration-count: 1;

-webkit-animation-name: roll; -webkit-animation-duration: 4s; -webkit-animation-iteration-count: 1; }

I'm Catholic, but seriously, All Saints Day was two days ago, and this was probably thrown up in 10 minutes. I hope it took some programmer 30 minutes max to test it and have it go live.

Yep. Really cool stuff.

The more practical use for the animation would be to have buttons that fade their rollover effects or have menus that fade in and out.

The more practical use for rotating animation would be like how my Ubuntu icons in my icon bar wiggle when they want attention, such as when someone sends me an IM, only this is doable in a browser, and with (almost) no javascript
