So, is THIS the excuse they're going to use to impeach Obama?

I think Obama should tell the house republicans to cram their subpoenas where the sun doesn't shine-- just like Bush did to house Democrats when they filed subpoenas demanding truthful info about evidence of WMD in Iraq, illegal wire tapping, and torture -- you know, stuff that actually MATTERED.

If Bush established the precedent of ignoring congressional subpoenas, the Republicans should have to deal with it.

Considering, of course that this Solyndra deal actually originated in the Bush White House, there is some karmic justice to that.

Solyndra was the first loan approved after the loan program was re-structured by Obama's ARAA. This is all on Obama's White House.

It appears that someone in the White House may have improperly influenced a grant of $500m. That's not patronage. That's worth an investigation.

Giving away our $ to connected grantees when they don't merit it is illegal. Here there's a little evidence, but not much yet. Nothing to tie anybody of significance to yet. May be nothing there, may be some mid-level political though he was doing his boss a favor (this happens all the time; if you ever get power, watch out for syncophants). Worth a look.

The Dog Ate The Constitution: This is all on Obama's White House.

Not relevant which administration started this. Was the law broken? If so, by whom? $500m is a lot to lose.

This could have been prevented:

FTFA: "the subpoenas are necessary because the White House has denied or delayed requests for thousands of documents related to Solyndra."

r1chard3: By the same committee members conducting the investigation.

BS: Congress doesn't approve specific program grants. They do earmarks, and this isn't one of them. Come on, at least have a clue about what you're talking about.

It doesn't matter when the program originated or when the grant application was filed. What matters is how the decision to approve the grant was made. If it was made properly, then it's too bad about the $. Did political pressure result in the grant officer making a decision to approve a grant that otherwise wouldn't have been approved? Somebody needs a spanking.

Quote war!

FTFA: White House spokesman Eric Schultz said the Obama administration was disappointed in the GOP vote, adding that committee leaders have "refused to discuss their requests with us in good faith," instead choosing "a partisan route, proceeding with subpoenas that are unprecedented and unwarranted."

Schultz said the administration has "cooperated extensively" with the committee's investigation by producing more than 85,000 pages of documents, including 20,000 pages produced Wednesday. Administration officials also have participated in multiple briefings and hearings on Solyndra, he said.

But I'm sure whatever the GOP is looking for will bring Obama down. They should keep on this track. That's the only way to help this country.

As I posted above. They can't be reasoned with. They don't compromise. Their belief is a religion and their party is beholden to it.

I'm seeing our state go batshiat crazy with these idiots- and people still defend them. They'll defend them when they take away food and water and the right to life for all those after the age of birth.

Honest question, can you cite where they denied them funding? I know very little, if anything, of the Bush administration's connection to this, but I've found several articles like this one from March 2008 where it outlines funding by the Energy Department into various projects, including:

University of Florida with Global Solar Energy, International Solar Electric Technology, Nanosolar and Solyndra: Routes for rapid synthesis of CIGS absorbers.

To give you an idea of what a complete idiot Darell Issa is, the big story here locally is that "Mr. Small Government" Issa, was making a lot of noise about trying to pass a federal law mandating what sort of background checks people hired by the DC mayor's office had to undergo before being hired.

He withdrew it after his aides realized that DC law already requires everything he wanted and then some

Nope but the idea Obama masterminded the whole thing so he could crack down on gun laws - a program started under the Bush admin. More Obama is guilty for getting into a time machine and forcing things started under Bush.

Yes because they can find no evidence of their BS conspiracy , to the GOP No proof means there must be a cover up.

Remember Issa said he would have investigations to make Obama look bad not matter if he had done anything or not.

To the GOP, all they need is belief. Evidence means nothing. Only their belief matters.

How scary is that?

yes, it is.

some documents are more damaging than others.

having the potential wrong doers get to chose which documents they release is stupid. Don't be such a partisan hack.
