No worries. It's easier to find on the black market called high school than cigarettes.

How many kids with ADD does it take to change a lightbulb?

2011-11-03 11:45:45 AM
I like to mess with ADD people by having a conversation with them and then stopping in mid sentence and walking away. Or randomly say: can you hear that? What is that? There it is again. Are you sure you can't hear that?

2011-11-03 11:47:44 AM
Must be all those teenagers that got knocked up, their kids are starting to turn of age for pharmaceutical companies. Those kids play ADD for a day at the doctor's office and the parents sell the prescription.

Give 'em Puffadderall instead.

I was wondering about that. Was at a Walgreens a few days ago picking up a prescription. Some HS kid was in front of me trying to drop of a scrip for Adderall.

Pharm: "We're out of Adderall, no idea when we will be restocked."
Girl: "Can you see if any of the other stores have any?"
Pharm: "EVERY store is out of stock. You won't have any luck at any Walgreens."

Walgreens hasn't had any for quite some time. Walmart has had better luck (it's been tight, but they've had it), but even they've started having some supply issues. Still, they picked up a bunch of business around here from Walgreens once they got a look at the difference in prices.

Apparently I have a borderline mild form of ADD.

I only know a few dozen adults on the stuff, because you know, it's for kids.

/know them by their very unproductive and moody weeks marked by unexpected weight gain

The first one would drive me nuts (And probably make me follow you and annoy the shiat out of you) but the second one is a bit dumb considering ADD doesn't make you stupid or hallucinate.

I think you mean the first one would get the shiat beaten out of him and the other two would ensure his death.

Kids shouldn't need the medication at all if you realize early and start to change the way you raise them. ADD is entirely predicated on habit patterns; once you deeply ingrain new habit patterns into someone with ADD they can generally continue with them. The challenge really becomes building those new habit patterns and finding motivation/desire to do that; there's always something more interesting.

Using the medication sporadically with an intentional habiatchange goal in mind is a far more effective treatment than assuming it's a cure all and will magically make you a normal person. It's not a medicine you want to take all the time and/or forever.

I need to take my ADD meds first. And during. And after.

ADD? That's so last decade. The kids are up to autistic and bipolar now. I guess big pharm can make more money off those pills than generic Ritalin or Adderall.

Our grandparents were too busy kicking Hitler and Togo's asses then coming home and farking the women, the world and the future to have ADD.

Kids these days. What we need is a proper evil dictator to have a war with.

Farking what? You just stopped mid-sente. . . oh you!

/I believe they do not have supplies to cover all those who are prescribed it, but I'm pretty sure we still are vastly oversupplied for those who actually need it.

We can't get generic Adderall tabs, but can still get the XR capsules.

The only generic Ritalin we can get cost us $65/100 but we only get reimbursed $15-$20/100, so it is a no go too.

My wife and I both take Adderall. I've frequently had to go to another pharmacy or wait a couple days for more stock to come in.

That XR crap was murder on my stomach when I took it and I can't imagine I'm the only one (Adderall itself is not particularly kind to the stomach anyhow). I also know that people who take adderall recreationally don't like it for snorting either. Some reasons why it might be easier to get the XR.

I take four 5mg tablets a day. That's 120 tablets a month. I got a call from my pharmacist the other day saying he's already starting looking for tablets for me two weeks in advance and has gotten 58 for me. That's all he can find any local pharmacy getting until at least after December and since it's a Schedule II, he can't get me 58 and owe me 62 later. I'm stuck with half of what I should be taking for November and none for December.

I have ADD and I can sort of deal with it, but I feel bad for folks with sleep disorders.

Adderal is hot because around here all the middle aged women found out it causes them to loose weight. I know about five that told their doc they felt "confused, depressed, and unable to focus" and went from size 12 to size 4.....
