Hungry goat is redundant. I've seen them eat chunks off of 2x4's.

Koalas have two opposable thumbs which allows them to climb trees with great skill.

Goats have no thumbs. This should not be possible.

Snakes don't even have limbs. But they can climb trees.

Try that one on for size.

If he could of photographed them taking a dump at the same time, that would have been historic.

I regret that I have but one brain to explode. Besides snakes practically are one giant limb. a twistly finger. I just don't get how such a big animal with HOOVES can be so freaking surefooted.

People have actual toes that can grip stuff and we can't even get close to where goats can go. It's like they defy the laws of physics.

Are we now discussing the size of your snake? In a goat thread?

Yep.
Also, the kid isn't a shepherd, he's a goatherd. Well, if he's either. I think perhaps he just happened to be walking by and has nothing whatsoever to do with the goats.
High on the hill lived the lonely goatherd.

I would truly like to see real-time brain imaging of goats climbing around. They must have impressive brain mass dedicated to balance, vision, etc.

But other than that, I have little use for them. They eat things they shouldn't, and the randy ones REEK.

Yes. 10000 to be precise. Of the mexican dancing variety.

In all seriousness for a change, I have some disturbing news for you.

Goats routinely climb argan trees in order to get the argan fruit (more like an olive). The people who harvest the argan fruit are really just going after the pit inside, from which the highly-prized argan oil is made. This is like olive oil, but much better, and the trees only grow in a particular area of Morocco, which means that if you can find argan oil in the US, it's damned expensive, but totally worth it, especially if you're into Moroccan cooking.

The reason the people don't shoo the goats away (aside from the inadvisability of such a task, if you know goats) is that the pits are just as usable after traveling through the goats as they are before. So they wait for them to come out the other end, clean them off, and add them to the press.

Delicious!

Ever heard of a Catahoula Leopard Hound? Aka Catahoula Cur? They'll go up a tree to go after a raccoon.

They also love to fetch (new window) (first 30 seconds are kind of dark..wait for it)

Fifteen goats, in one fir tree;
their fur was fanned, in a fiery breeze.
But, funny little goats, they had no wings!
Oh what shall we do, with the funny little things?

Behold, the klipspringer.
www.wildlifesafari.info
They can climb up sheer rock walls. They can jump and land on a rock face the size of a quarter. And they have hooves. No thumbs.

I remember an episode of Jeff Corwin where he goes to Morocco and talks about the tree-climbing goats. They were falling out of the tree so he jokes "It's raining goats!"
Good times.
